"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

You Would Be Wrong

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "No Doubt The World Is Evolving As It Should...Not":

Who appointed her to lay a wreath?

I will take CAOs of The Town of Aurora for $100 Alex.

***********

First the wreath would be sold by the Legion member in charge of poppy sales. Then, if there was no-one from the R.C.M.P. to lay the wreath, a Legion rep. would make the request of the former Mayor .

Regardless of all else, it was a slight to the town's Chief Magistrate and a breach of protocol.

Which simply establishes how far the current Legion is from the former institution.

It seems to escape some people that Remembrance Day is intended to remind us not to forget those that made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our basic and democratically fundamental rights to freedom of thought and expression, which includes the right to express oneself without the threat of retribution from your government for the mere offence of expressing your opinion.

Morris and her small pack of supporters felt justified in hiring lawyers to pursue political rivals, as well as firing or intimidating numerous people irrespective of the fact that they were elected, were the electorate, were staff members, or even if they were well known as a world renowned integrity commissioner and an expert on good corporate governance. What all of those people who were pursued by Morris have in common is that they dared to disagree with her. It's that simple.

The apparent hypocrisy that we have witnessed in this town over the past few years is nothing short of astounding as far as I am concerned.

The political carnage that has been left in the name of “good government” and “integrity” is very hard to explain away but it appears that there are some people that are prepared to overlook our recent history in an effort to create their own reality for their own reasons.

There is little doubt in my mind that Morris is going to take another run at public office but the big question will be if Aurora has a collective memory that puts more weight on fact over fiction. We will just have to wait and see.

Lest we forget.

Would Morris think there is a Snowball's chance in hell of getting elected as Mayor of this Town again? (Snowball? a freudian slip, sorry)

Doubtful

But her total did come within 1300 votes of getting enough to win the last seat on council so that might be a quest she is considering.

Lest we forget, her actions at that level two terms ago were just as conniving and disruptive.
