afloat on a windy sea.":
Evelyn you may want to contact Clr.Sponga
in Newmarket to confirm or deny because word on the street is the Jazz festival
is off there.Too many demands perhaps?
**************
It was around January 1st 2013 The Banner printed the story about Newmarket being the new home of erstwhile Aurora Jazz Festival
Eh! Heh! Look what Aurora's Council has done now.
I thought the timing was odd. Newmarket Town Hall is closed from Christmas Eve. How would anything have been agreed to result in a proclamation on January 1st?
Location was also unlikely. How would a five foot chain link fence and security services for the purpose of charging admission, fit around the Newmarket Farmers' Market?
Why would The Banner publish such an unlikely story?
What could be their purpose?
Councillor Ballard appears to be putting a lot of effort into personally discrediting an individual connected with the Lucid Productions proposal to the Town of Aurora.
The Town is committing no resources.
No matter the success or otherwise of the project, the town stands to lose nothing.
Why would Councillor Ballard put so much into his effort?
How does that reflect higher expectations from behaviour
of a Councillor. expounded by the Councillor in his argument in favour of a Code of Conduct complete with penaltie and punishment?
What could be his purpose?
At Thursday's public meeting in the old library to discuss potential for the building , Councillor Ballard informed a participant that " a woman" on Council has recommended sale of the property for private development.
No record exists of such a proposal.
Why would Councillor Ballard say such a thing?
Wherefore art the higher standard of conduct?
What could be his purpose ?
Last Tuesday Council were informed of a Code of Conduct complaint filed immediately prior to Council's deliberation on the Code that evening
On Wednesday, I learned from someone, who heard from someone else who was informed by the complainant , the complaint was against myself.
The complainant claimed the complaint would go away if I would acknowledge I was wrong about whatever it was she was complaining about. . .
On Saturday, I heard through the same route, the complaint has been withdrawn; through e-mail with formal withdrawal to follow on Monday morning.
The Toronto Star had somehow learned of the complaint.
The complainant had been contacted, following which the complaint was withdrawn.
In the meantime, I still have no idea of the complaint, the complainant was complaining about that would have disappeared had I only admitted to being wrong. .
Sole communication between myself and the complainant in recent years was when the complainant appeared twice recently at Council-in-Committee , and at Council , made presentations in formats designed by herself, which were received by Council on both occasions without comment from any member of Council.
Under the circumstances, what complaint could be filed by a complainant?
What could be the purpose?
No doubt, in the fullness of time and further activities along the same lines, a clearer picture will emerge.
Being fervently in support of a Code of Righteous Conduct ,no doubt Councillor Saintly Ballard will eventually reveal the purpose in all of this......or not .
It appears the truth about the beginnings of said Jazz Festival are coming to a boil.It is not your fault as she did it to herself with the help of a bunch of bullies. She cant move on and begin anew.I guess Bradford is next....then Barrie ....then Santa and his village. Her theme song should be "On the road again".
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, does the complainant live on the same street as you?
ReplyDeleteI think we have to wait to learn if that comment about the Jazz Fest was genuine or merely an attempt to embroil you in a controversy. Too many balls in the air. Do be careful, please.
ReplyDeleteIf the Star has the details of the complaint, & that might be another ' if ', we should be able to learn the details without filing a FOI with the town.
Interesting that this should happen right before the break in council's schedule.

ReplyDeleteI had the same thought & have never seen or met the person you are indicating. Always thought it odd for them to be neighbours. So very different. But perhaps we're both wrong. Let the dust settle.
A question, please
ReplyDeleteWhat does it take to require a special meeting of Council? I recall a few cases when meetings suddenly were held with just a short notice. Tree cutting or coyote alert or a ratepayers' group tantrum. Nothing about sorting out Council's own business. Not sure where the closed sessions would fit in this current mess.
Do they plan this stuff while sober?
ReplyDeleteIf the complaint was officially filed & then withdrawn, an apology & explanation is in order. To an open Council, pronto.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of where or if the jazz festival ends up elsewhere -- the fact is that mean spirited council resolution here in Aurora sent them packing -- a loss to those who enjoyed it so much and weren't part of the petty politics. Nose face spite come to mind!
ReplyDeleteWe already knew the Councillor Ballard tells Whoppers. He posted on his Blog that Morris had been' defamed '. Hooey. That defamation case was thrown out by Justice Brown because it could not list specifics. She never stated that being called a 'liar' was defamation because it was true according to tapes. The same with the rest of the comments. She could not state that even one was defamatory. Sure, the language was tough. But the gist of it was accurate and Councillor Ballard 'was wrong.
ReplyDeleteClowncil Watch has been silent since February 22. Evalina must be on holiday.
ReplyDelete5:33...
ReplyDeleteWhy??? No one here believes that the Code means anything. You can't hide behind it when it is to your advantage.
Either you accept it or not.

ReplyDeleteDid it ever occur to your furry little mind that all of the Jazz problems were related to public relations disasters? One after another. No one wanted to fight with them every year. All the other groups in town manage to muddle through very nicely without raising dark clouds of smoke as they go.
We do not know yet if Newmarket has decided not to deal with that group. It is no longer our business.

ReplyDeleteWho said anything about the Code of Conduct? We are simply talking good manners here.
11:01.... do you read the entire post?
ReplyDeleteThe orignal comment from Evelyn cites the CoC.... then 5:33 looks for something from the fact it was used. Now you are asking.... who's talking about the CoC???
As the ginger-haired troll would say... WTF?
