The Gauntlet is Down.

I draw your attention to the  last comment of Tim the Enchanter.

Here is a man thoroughly conversant with procedure and from my perspective,
entirely capable of offering leadership and guidance  to a Council.

He  hasn't come by that  level of understanding without experience.

He could be an entirely valid candidate for the Office of Mayor.

I have no idea who he is.

He may not  live in the town.

He may even be the Mayor of another Town.

This Town has never needed a Mayoralty candidate as badly as we do right now.

I suspect Tim the Enchanter is anonymous for a reason beyond privacy.

I may be spitting into the wind.

But  Tim. if there are no encumbrances and you care enough  about our town to put  your hat in the ring. you have to know that's all it  would take to make a difference.

You can indulge yourself all you like ,writing what you obviously know well, if you are not willing to put up  nothing is going to change.

  1. Geoff Dawe did not appear on the scene until sometime in June, I think. We can only hope there are some good candidates yet to emerge. There are bound to be a few lurkers with left-over signs from their pasts.

  2. Wouldn't it be ironic if Tim the Enchanter is one of the Morrisites ......

  3. If Tim the Enchanter is prepared to make his identity known he should be retained by the Town at an annual fee of $100,000 to serve as a referee at Council and General Committee meetings, to keep the debate on track and relevant to the town's business.

This is but a fraction of what this council pisses away in mindless and meaningless discussion.

Neither Mayor Dawe nor "Mayor" Gallo have a clue as to how to run a meeting.

  4. Anthony Pullano is now tweeting that Snapd does not take enough pictures of him at events. If he is becoming upset over photos what will he be like on council. Scary candidate

  5. Tim's lengthy comment fails to consider:
    1. The current by-laws do not permit debate at the table.
    2. Attempt to speak to/write to current councillor fail unless the individual is on one or the other side of a political fence.
    3. Open Forum and delegation status seems to be the only way to express an adverse opinion & even those two avenues are strictly controlled.

    Hello!! 2010!?! Booting Morris out!?!

How can you of all people make such a ridiculous statement?!

  7. Tweeting is by and for the birds and the council candidate who complains about inadequate publicity
should hire a photographer to accompany him to all public events.

He can then arrange to print many hundreds or even thousands of "Greetings from..." cards and bulk mail them through Canada Post. It needs the revenue.

Absolutely not. There is a long track record going back through the Citizen.

  9. 15:03 would perhaps rather have anarchy?

The man has been collecting photos of himself with notables for years. I think he might be a bit ticked off at missed opportunities. Did he get one with Mr Martin ?

That is soooo yesterday's news. E is dealing with the " now " as you probably say too often.
