My large signs were expensive. The sign-maker installed them the first time He did a professional job.and we chose locations carefully.
They cost most of my sign budget. Lawn signs were collected , cleaned, staples removed and stored from the previous campaign.
This year my daughter and son-in-law placed them for me with the same thought to location.
Where they shared space with other signs , they were careful not to obscure any other signs.
It wasn't hard because my signs are fastened to T Bar metal stakes. They are high.
The sign at the south east corner of Wellington and Bathurst has been taken. Eight ties had to be cut for the sign to be removed from the stakes. The . stakes themselves are expensive. Even more so, empty.
I would appreciate return of the sign.
. It's of no use to anyone else.
It would be hard to hide.
In someone else's possession, it must clearly be seen to have been stolen.
Please, I need my sign.
Put it back . On the ground would be fine.
It would be very much appreciated.
Damn it all - I hope it wasn't some sort of initiation rite. Hate to think of it sitting in some kid's rec room as a trophy.
ReplyDeleteIt is awfully tempting to point a finger here but I will resist other than to note that we did see this stuff a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteYour signs are few. They are different. They have been receiving compliments. Someone was unable to handle that.
ReplyDeleteI pay little attention to signs. I find the newspapers are useful for comments of candidates when responding to questions posed.
ReplyDeleteThere is a gentleman running that would appear to have similar views to yourself on running the town - I like that. Further, I don't think he will have the patience to be stonewalled by staff- I also like that.
There is also a candidate running who is a professional engineer. I am looking more closely here. It seems to me that engineering could be an asset for at least one council member. I have seen councillors probing for information on water rates, consumption, storm water etc. They are usually stymied with "data" that is difficult to interpret without some sort of training.
Some candidates could paper the sidewalks with signs and it would mean nothing to me.
You need not worry that I will spend too much time as most of the existing councillors are off my list and a number of the other candidates can be easily stroked out - especially those that mention a tax increase as a fix.
18:34 - It would ill advised to point a finger because you would more than likely be wrong. Why put yourself into that position?
ReplyDeleteThe reality is, the signs get removed/destroyed/defaced etc because they are targets of youth with nothing better to do with their time.
If you are looking to point a finger at other candidates (more than likely your thinking) you are just looking to stir up the pot needlessly.
Unless you witness it you would be better off not saying anything.
Unfortunatelt teenagers love the sign season - no conspiracy - just stupidity!

ReplyDeleteNot thinking about other candidates at all. Only one contender is in conspiracy mode. Imagine twitting to the cops because you feel offended.
Signs come and signs go, The sign that has gone astray is a large one. It will not be easy to hide and I know it wil not fit into a car. We had to ask for it to be returned. It has not as of yet. You never really expect it to be returned but there is always hope. We have moved on! We hope who ever has it will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteIt is really too bad, Heather. Most of the signs that went AWOL during the last election were small & easily hidden. Maybe someone will drop it off for you.
ReplyDeleteOne hopes.
Thoughts on yesterday?
