I do write about the Harper Party and problems left behind by the Honourable Dalton McGuinty. Not so much as about local affairs. Though it does seem obvious, if things can't be changed here, they can't be changed anywhere.

Acquiescence and compliance in the community became less evident at the same time all logic became conspicuous in its absence.
I don't think it's time to stop writing about town affairs.
Council's bafflegab commentary on budget control ,or lack thereoff, this week is a singular example of the reason.
The Grand Pooh Bah and His Eminence Gris were compelled to explain in garbled prose why they dusn't interfere with the administration's spending plan for 2015.
No direction given to cut spending. Instead a diffident request to "find savings"
"Increase revenue by $100,000 " is meekly suggested.
While Council hands out $370,000. to "purchase culture" and $70,000. to the Historical Society for no apparent purpose, the administration is asked to find new ways of gouging an additional $100,000 from the tax-paying community .
I have to draw attention to the contradiction in case it doesn't get noticed.
They know not what they do !

I would't have made a good spectator at that meeting. I would have been escorted out. I have no idea how you sat on that council in the last term. But then again I'm sure it was a walk in the park compaired to the term before.
Council are going to have their hands full with demanding residents as the Timberlane & Highlands groups get going. Not to mention that the mayor seems to have promised a tennis facility and work on the old library lands.
And they are going to have trouble denying the demands when there are already cases of entitleds receiving handouts.

Anna has done some good work on the Petch house background and has some material that was new to me.
The entitled have already been chosen. No more members aloud.
I love that Council believes they can save money with composting. they must be nuts - a good percentage of my neighbours get their recycling dates wrong. And then they go away. I do not mind cleaning up the coon debris for a couple of them but not all.
Mr Watts DID crunch some #s for us.
