"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

FIRST THINGS FIRST

I have no milk in the frig and I should go shopping.

But the word concupiscence is much more interesting.

My  use of words has come mainly from reading context. The word does relate to the baser human appetites and that understanding probably came from catholic reading but that's where I separate from the theological.

I think sensuous, sexuality and lust are natural  human instincts necessary for the survival of the species. They  are not base.

On the other hand. craven indulgence in pursuit of ultimate beyond attainable sexual experience is not normal

Torture, cruelty, greed, depravity, jealousy, malice and deceit all take their place on any list of unacceptable behavior.

Concupiscence covers them all.

I love a word that captures both multiple and precise meaning.

The homosexual community has  co-opted words like rainbow and gay.

Who said they could ?

Nobody . They just did.

Now, if these words are used in their original meaning, confusion arises.

Despite all the pomp and ceremony, I don't believe the homosexual lifestyle is merry and bright and incredibly gay.

I think that's a determined and forced facade. It's a lie I tell you.

If any child of mine came to me and confided he or she was "gay " ! would love them no less.

But it would not be good news.

Life is tough enough without adding to its complexity. Society's acceptance does not make it easier.

Now I really need to go out and get milk and oranges.

I already have tea.

It truly is a muddle out there now. I do not envy anyone dating.

Society's acceptance is one thing, parental approval quite another.
My daughter has a gay pal at university. His parents have not been told. When the two of them attended a dance held by a society to which they both belong, his parents were thrilled with the photos. Now their expectations are completely out of whack. It is very sad. And none of my business.

It makes me want to upchuck to see those freaks who once a year have to express their sexual proclivity by holding a parade that is the very highest of depravity.

Everyone should feel free to pursue their personal life-style in private, with taste and dignity.

But please bear in mind that there have to be some of us who shoulder the responsibility of continuing the species. This is already a very serious problem in some western countries.

Same as the Cancer Fund-raisers taking pink for their own uses. Like cancer will be beaten if we use pink tissue boxes. A popular and cheap gift these days is a wooden box into which one can stick a pink tissue box so that it fits in anywhere. These can be made by hand or bought in a couple of local stores.

The parade is a huge cash-cow for the city. No way they will ever stop it, Most residents plan to be out of town during that period. Same with the carnivals in Trinidad and Rio/
