"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

KEEPING SECRETS...EH

Wait for it.
There is another mess coming, and it's a doozy

Why do we have to wait for it? Why doesn't Tom tell us? He keeps many lines of communication open all the time.

The only thing I know  that's happening is the Joint Facility near completion. Except it's not. I hear many parts of the project have been eliminated to keep the job within the tender price. That should not be. It means the bids were not properly analyzed by staff. Or the specifications were not adequate.

Like the floor in the greenhouse. It's not there.

But there's  a second floor of office space that isn't needed.

We read about the gold standard energy plan included in the specs , needing another $999,999,099. to be included in the project .

Council appointed a committee  to oversee financial aspects of the project.

Can't  say I've noticed reports  of change orders from the committee . Of course that doesn't mean there weren't any. NThey might have been approved  without being called for discussion. It's a sure method of keeping problems under wraps.

It's Adam's birthday today. Last weekend he participated in a cycle race with his brother. They rode a tandem twenty-six miles up hill and through mud and mire . Sometimes, Keenan who cycles as a sport, had to rest and Adam peddled them both. They had  a flat tire and in the end ,a deflated tire.
Adam had some choice language to describe the experience.
At the end  Adam didn't know what to do. HIs  body was hurting all over, but team members called them on and finally got behind them and pushed them to the finish line where they ended victorious.

They may never persuade him to do that again but few have done it before him so that's alright.

Happy Birthday, Adam, your grandmother is proud.
