Out,Out,Damned Spot

Last night's election coverage was highly informative. Scarborough-Guildwood was won by a Liberal. With only a third of votes cast. Two thirds were divided between Conservatives and NDP. Adam Giambrone was delighted with his showing. He noted his campaign only started three weeks ago. There was an empty room, no furniture,no phones, no volunteers. Of course the candidate was confident the vote was a reflection of confidence in his ability. He must have been drinking Andrea Horvath's Cool Aid. John Tory thinks it means a political comeback for Giambrone and the voters are ready to forgive and forget his sleazy conduct while holding the office of Chair of the TTC. It came to public attention when he was a Mayoralty candidate, John Tory is a very straightforward, intelligent individual. But he knows nothing at all about politics. It;s the reason he could not get elected. I think the voters of Scarborough-Guildwood were so outraged by Liberal performance and total lack of respect, they took themselves to the polls and voted for Giambrone and the Conservative to make sure the Liberal candidate would be defeated. They came close. Two thirds of the electorate did not vote for the Liberal government. All the waters of Arabia will not wash away this blight.

  1. I haven't heard the # of actual votes compared to those eligible to vote. It is telling that Mr Hudak is claiming a huge victory because his party received more votes in TO and Ontario than any other party. They just weren't in the right places. That's a victory?

  2. People did not vote for Giambrone. They voted against the Liberals. Trouble was that they split the vote.

  3. The Liberals are in trouble but then so are the Conservatives. I can't see the NDP in Ontario but it happened before.
