We are not more righteous than thou

I knew it was J. Joseph didn't strike the right chord  but I  figured someone would correct me.

I knew there was a highway in the western direction.

It's the beauty of blogging .

Corrections are easily made.

I  said we will evolve . We will go where conversation takes us. We will be forthright as always.  As far as can be determined  beforehand , clear vitriol will  be expunged.

Name- calling will  be frowned upon unless funny and peculiarly appropriate. We are without angelic tendencies.

I find myself asking Stephanie. ...is it neutral or nasty? between the two of us we make decisions.

My cheezy friend got published despite cheezy exasperation because he usually had a point .

He may. want to change his nom de plume to remain in good standing.

There's an interesting story about the outgoing Mayor of Georgina and the Conservation Authority.

  1. I'm wondering how long they will refer to " Grossi's Mountain " ? It might not ever get changed in the minds of residents.

  2. I read about that story in the Error. Didn't pay much attention to it because of the source. Facts have always been a challenge for this paper.

New editor - have to watch but the relocation from up north to Newmarket does not generate confidence.

  6. It must be difficult to determine the good from the bad. I think you get it right most of the time which is better than I do.

  7. 9:57 - Editors, reports of that paper are all the same, and always will be. Doesn't matter where they're located. Hate to put them all in the same category, but I've seen nothing change with this paper for years.

  8. Let's all remember the purpose of a newspaper (and what it's always been). It's there to make money by selling advertisements. The Banner and The Auroran are like every newspaper out there. The Banner is a "vehicle" to contain the increasing multitude of Thursday flyers. The "newspaper" is there in the hopes that people will read the flyers. The success of the paper is viewed from a business sales point of view of how much advertising is sold on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis. The news may be necessary but in this case it takes second fiddle. IMHO The Banner isn't an "Aurora" paper in that most of the news is from other parts of York Region. It's recycled from their other York Region publications with a sprinkling of Aurora happenings. Love or hate it at least The Auroran (for now) is about Aurora and focused on Aurora. But who knows perhaps that will also change with it's new owners having other publications in the area.

I've never understood that little magazine that gets dumped on our doorstep and is not even opened anymore. Must be hand-delivered. It has ads from around the Region but sure is not generating sales that I can see.
