Anonymoose is obviously venting. It's allowed.
The fact is, Councillors Gaertner and Gallo occupy seats on Council. Obviously, they represent a constituency in the community and irritate. another.
I do too.
The question is, do their views reflect others on Council?
Will Council adopt rules that will continue to bedevil us.
Or will we spend enough time to determine a set that everyone finds acceptable.
There are votes that call for unanimity of purpose.
This is one of them.
There is no merit in the majority seeking to impose their will on the minority, in the matter of personal conduct.
We are not robots. We are not mindless dolts.We are not children who can be made to take time out or stand in a corner facing the wall and hang our head in shame.
We cannot be forced to comprehend the simplest of concepts, if we do not have the ability.
But we can do what every legislative body must. We can choose order over chaos.

Too bad the last bunch didn’t see it this way ,everyone has a right to an opinion and to be heard , my what a novel concept, sounds like democracy to me , The last crowd preferred to take the low road , Lawyers by the score , pre programmed integrity commissioners, codes conduct and silly little rules designed to gag and silence the opposite view.

If Gaertner and Gallo "represent a constituency in the community," I wish it would introduce itself.
Quite frankly I can't understand why and how often they open their mouths at meetings. Nothing sensible emerges and everyone else's time is wasted and Town business is not accomplished. What's the point of having an Agenda when matters are delayed, deferred, destroyed?
How does one chose order over chaos without a firm and knowledgeable Chair in an impartial driver's seat?

And you seem to forget that Evelyn still has a lawsuit against the last bunch that are being defended AT OUR EXPENSE!

I once listened to a very interesting talk about chaos. Despite the assumption that there is no structure to it, in fact there is structure and order even to chaos. I guess the challenge and the quest of this council is to find that structure and order.

It seems to me that some members of this council almost relish keeping the MorMac nightmare alive by continually recounting the horrors. That would be you, Councillor Buck!
Why, for pity sake?
When we tossed their butts, we all expected that we would move on from it. End of story. Never to darken our doorsteps again.
But noooooooo, we're not allowed to move on. Evelyn must drag everything up again and again and seems to want to right every perceived wrong to the point where there are some "issues" that appear to be just hers and no longer ours. How did that happen? How did I stop caring about something I was so worked up over before? Because Ev can never let it go if it didn't go HER way, no matter how trivial the issue. And when she flogs dead horses she is incensed that it doesn't come back to life to flog it to death again... and again.
And when her "new" colleagues on council don't listen, she harangues them in print. Or they make soothing noises to ward off her devil blog tongue. If I'm nice to her, she'll leave me alone and pick on someone else. I'll throw her a bone to deflect her attention.
Evelyn, for goodness sake, to continue in such a vein just keeps the MorMac horror alive. We don't need reminders. We lived it. We thought we fixed that problem with the last election.
For you to go hammer and tongs again and again diminishes the ability of THIS council, and your ability to influence it. Isn't that what is facing you now when you're becoming more frustrated by them not listening to you? Broken record and crying wolf syndrome kicks in. The sky is perpetually falling in according to you.
Staff at Town Hall head the other way when they see you coming so they don't become snared in your net. You'll flog their director at some stage so don't want to be painted with the Buck brush.
Don't feed the MorMac or you'll give them legendary status. Move on or YOU'LL be tossed the next time!
I'm sure they're rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect. They do not lurk at town hall. They have well and truly left the building.
Don't give them the satisfaction!
Now go and find out about the water leakage, and why we're spending so much money on the aged rec centre, and why in heck we're spending so much money on new works building, and why I seem to always be behind 3 parks and rec or public works trucks in the line at Tim Horton's drive through - the important stuff!
I'll understand if you don't post this, but please take the message to heart with the spirit it is intended.
Don't waste your energy on some of the silly stuff you're flogging. You can make this term your finest, but not the way you're going.
You're losing the faithful.

Who is RTB?
"Who's is RTB?"
RTB = Robert The Bruce
He used to post here and on the Aurora Citizen blog (when it was relevant). Most times he disagreed with Ev but his arguments seemed sound. He was attacked by the above mentioned Chris Watts so RTB started his own to combat CW.
Sadly RTB seems to have disappeared from all three of them. Does anyone know who he he really was? I hope he is okay.
