"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

The Buck Stops Here

Christopher Watts has leveraged a single criticism to three this morning. I am now childish, petty and patronising by referring on a couple of occasions  to Councillor Pirri as young.

I'm sorry he feels that way.

BTW.Nigel Kean was a three time losing candidate for the office of Mayor.

Why does Christopher keep harping about whether or not you or any of us visit Ballard's site? It's like having a preferring reading list. Good grief, I won't watch Fox news[?] and that doesn't mean I'm missing anything. Just putting up with Ballard at meetings is more than adequate in my book.

Christopher's hissy-fits are becoming fairly predictable.
Usually when Evelyn has had a nice long run of posts and comments. Oddly enough, this is quite flattering to Evelyn. Take it as a compliment.

Christopher is the one who is being childish, petty and patronizing.

With his apparent intelligence and communications knowledge he should concentrate on bashing those in need of same. It appears that there are many of these. He should not waste his time on you.

Should he survive life's travails and reach an age into his 80's, he might find that he starts referring to people in their twenties and thirties as "young Jane" or "young jack."

Part of this might have as its source the traditional manners of speech in the home of a youngster, who then incorporates these into his or her own.

The British often say "our Fred" or "our Maureen" and they are not using these phrases in a possessive sense, merely as members of the family.

No doubt there are all sorts of similar idioms that are part of the language and culture of peoples in many lands.

Christopher should accord the proper respect that you are due for who and what you are and for your magnificent role in the life of our community.

You are the voice that couldn't be stilled. May you continue for many more years.

That's a weakness C.W. has to work on. He doesn't see that if he minds his own business in dealing with Evelyn, she will continue to regard him as a friend. Advice on the side is fine - but once on his site it isn't.
