"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

No Help Required

Something Fishy in Aurora has left a new comment on your post "The Play's The Thing":

Very nice comments by Ballard (aka RealAuroraGuy) in the York region article....

"Wow"

I am appalled at the actions of the rubes who live in Aurora. How shameful. If I was part of the St. Kitts organization, I would pack up my festival and move it to another town. Right away. Don't wait another minute. Aurora just isn't good enough to host this life-enriching event. To the St. Kitts' and Ms. Morton-Leonard, I say if you want help moving this festival, you just say the word. I'm certain there will be a line up of hundreds at your door to help get this festival out of Aurora and off to another town that would appreciate all the wonderful, selfless work that you do. That would show Aurora!
************

I haven't seen the paper yet.

Goodness Gracious !  Great Balls Of Fire ! Did he really say that?

It's an extreme sample of  political buffoonery. It could not have been anticipated let alone believed.

It's how a potential problem cant turn out not to be a problem at all.

Mayor Dawe can only benefit.

I used to think of  Mormac Duo as the gift that kept  on giving.

But this surpasses all. It is both priceless and matchless.

Ignorance of what Canadians expect from elected officials, and  arrogance that they know exactly how to  inveigle the masses.

No help  required to bring themselves down.

If Councillor Ballard really has the best interests of Aurora's residents at heart he would grasp his two ignorant soul-mates firmly by their arms and the three of them could evacuate themselves out of our town and out of our lives by taking the big plunge and flushing their stupidity permanently down the drain.

And for someone who apparently said "Art and Culture in Aurora is dead," a second flush just to make sure would be greatly appreciated.

Is this trio practicing abuse of office and malfeasance?

Do they even understand that they took an oath of office? Or did they cross their fingers behind their backs?

Evelyn,

How can you (or your commenter) be sure that "RealAuroraGuy" is actually Cllr. Ballard?

People believe, perhaps rightly, that the original "AuroraGuy" was Cllr. Ballard. Whether or not that was true, this "RealAuroraGuy" is more likely to be an imposter.

This is a common ruse on Twitter, where anonymous people create handles that are close to the name of some famous person in order to make comical posts in someone elses name. Not to suggest that Cllr. Ballard is a "famous" person, but I have a feeling that this is just such an occasion.

I don't believe that it is possible that Cllr. Ballard would be so dumb as to make a posting like this when he is aware that people at least believe that he was the original "AuroraGuy", whether true or not.

A bit of skullduggery on the part of one of your posters I think Evelyn. Please don't allow yourself to be dragged into something so base.
