Comments received recently are clear illustration the people who accept this blog as their own, are taking hold of the town's business.
Independent research contributes ever more factual information. It's not just opinion any more. Substantiated facts contribute to the discussion.
It was happening gradually for four years but it has suddenly exploded into the powerful force that was always the potential.
No coincidence led to defeated candidate Evalina MacEachern attack on the Mayor last week. Neither was it an accident the letter appeared in the Aurora Banner.
Weeks of strategic planning likely went into the timing along with ancillary incidents within the Council Chamber.
Councillors Gaertner and Gallo persist in feebly trying to stop the tide from turning . Councillor Ballard sees himself in a heroic role.
The Tree Bylaw had been seized upon by Susan Walmer from the hands of a Beacon Hall Golf Course neighbour.
Hoped for reactions are obviously not those intended.
The activities have not drawn attention from Church Street School's governance situation and the irrefutable need for change.
More information about how the tangle was created in the first place will undoubtedly emerge.
MacEachern's letter, the former Mayor's Hussahs and attempts to draw women's organisations into the fray are reminiscent of the past.
Councillor Ballard's reference to " the rubes" who live in Aurora, and do not deserve the ministering angel attentions of the organisers of the St. Kitts Jazz Festival , have been a startling revelation to many.
But not to those who shared seats at the table or watched closely from the sidelines for the past eighteen years..
The group have now done to themselves, what no-one else could have done, to reveal their mind sets
Had I tried to explain it as I understood it, it would have simply not have been believed.
My own credibility would have been jeopardized.
When the former Mayor was elected, my comment was:
For a person in that state of mind to gain a position of authority was the worst thing that could happen to her.
She will dig a hole so deep she will never be able to climb out.
She did that.
To their misfortune, others were dragged into the same hole. Still others mistook it for opportunity and leaped joyfully over the edge.
The story continues to unfold.
It is not yet over. They have made sure of that..
You say that the group "have now done to themselves, what no-one else could have done, to reveal their mind sets."
ReplyDeleteAnd "For a person in that state of mind to gain a position of authority was the worst thing that could happen to her."
You talk as though any of these people had or have functioning minds.
A dictionary definition of "mind" is "the human consciousness that originates in the brain and is manifested especially in thought, perception, emotion, will, memory and imagination.
The aforementioned definition obviously proves that the people to whom you refer are all mindless creatures, with no redeeming ability or value.
What surprises me somewhat, is that their comments have been so controlled, so subdued.
Can they do no better?
The only thing ' startling ' about Ballard's reference to Aurora ' rubes ' was why in blazes he could be so stupid as to hand us such a gift of his gab. If you watch tapes of Council meetings, you can see that he always signals when he is preparing to launch what he considers to be a strike. He gets a small tight smirk in anticipation which should warn councillors of incoming malarky. You can't tell from the tapes, but I would guess he also twitches in his chair.
