I never made any such suggestion, KA-NON. In fact, I stated that no one would deny ex-Cllr Buck her right to bring suit against whomever.
Your 'what if' liability insurance claim scenario is apples-and-oranges in relation to commencing litigation over a perceived loss of reputation.
Also, I'm not a long-standing member of council with a reputation for watching the taxpayers' pennies. I'm not a vocal opponent of so many budget line items, either, failing to vote in favour of every Town Budget. I don't attempt to strike a righteous pose while looking to claim some moral high ground as the champion of the 'little guy.'
Most of all, with all that reputation for parsimony, I didn't decide to put private interests before the public

Your list indicates who you are not ,what you have not done and what you did not decide.
everything in fact except who you are ,what you have done and the decision that makes you
so determined to prove my perfidy on my blog.
You pointedly ignore the indices of opportunity to settle this matter at numerous points prior to a trial.
You completely disregard strong evidence suggesting the town's insurance contract did not contain coverage for this eventuality, that the first decision therefore was to deny liability and the second to recommend settlement.
Close to a million dollars have been expended to defend an action entirely separate from the corporate business of the Town of Aurora. You show no curiosity about why that was allowed or made to happen.
Several opportunities have been provided in this space for you to prove your point.
In my judgment ,you fall far short of that objective. Your motives are suspect.
You really have to wonder why it hangs out on the Blog if it feels that way about its owner and operator. Perhaps because it cannot find any other outlet for its ' publications '.
ReplyDeleteBecause, 09:21, *someone* needs to take a good hard look at the "owner and operator" of this particular kool-aid stand.
ReplyDelete@ 10:12
ReplyDeleteWhy? Because it might make you, with all your advantages, feel superior in your anonymous hideaway ?
Its motives are not the only thing that is suspect.
ReplyDeleteIt is a creature of the Centre [ maybe in charge of volunteers ] and admirer of the Historical Society [ likely a member ].
16:24 I agree 100 percent.I will go as far to say that club house is the center point of many exclusionary issues in this town.
ReplyDeleteThe radio station is another click waiting to happen. The town will offer them space and a place on town property to hang their equippment and then the exclusion begins. It is connected to the SCC.
ReplyDelete5:12 The exclusion has already begun. There is going to be a hard push-back and its begun also.I know one of the two that is being reported out on from the centre is backing off from that click and enviornment.
DeleteYou have nailed it 16:24.That place is empty and the elite are protecting their castle.
ReplyDelete10:21- I like the owner and operator of this "kool-aid stand". It's hard to find people with integrity.
ReplyDeleteTotally of Topic
ReplyDeleteIt is a great day for the Street Sale. If you go, try to buy Canadian - it is a challenge,
Ron picked a terrific date all those years ago.
Your right it is a challenge, but looking forward to it.

ReplyDeletebut if no one attends their events or visits, and no one listens, they must fold. It is simply not sustainable as the vacant rooms now being discovered show.
If only it was that simple. It was understood that the goal was to be self sustainable, but that changed. They announced at council that they never will be, and council continues to hand over our money. What does that tell ya?
Delete@05:10/05:12/05:16 (undoubtedly the same early riser)
ReplyDeleteWRONG on all three counts. But I must admit, the community radio station angle is a new one. Where do you get this (stuff)? Ya gotta laugh!
It will be a nice day. Hope to get to see ya Ev!
ReplyDelete16:59
ReplyDelete- getting crowded with order givers and not enough willing to do what is increasingly demanded. Going to fun if it blows.
This is Fact:People at the SSC are being told who to avoid. This was the same tactic we remember from the Lone Granger.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly qualifies someone as "Elite"? I have always wondered.
ReplyDelete10:20- Does it really matter how one qualifies? It's already been determined that they can do whatever they want. All the BS about board meetings and approvals is just that...BS. All theatrical performances. It was understood that they eventually would work towards being self sufficient...and what comes out in a council meeting? Nope! No plans of being sufficient at anytime let alone eventually. They will always get a cheque from the tax payers every year. They will always get free rent, utilities paid, open and close their doors whenever they wish. I almost passed out from laughing when I heard they got some award for transparency in financial reporting. What a farce. Instead of wondering how one qualifies as an "elite" ...You should be wondering how you can get a gig like that from the Town.
ReplyDelete07:29- Please explain.
ReplyDelete12:16
ReplyDeleteYou have to look at the small print in that award. I think it was just judged on book-keeping. Nothing to do with anything else. Sort of like a school assignment that only a few bother to turn in. Or being one of a group that vote for each other to be named best at something.
No 12:16 I don't want to be I just wonder how people that like to see/hear small concerts or someone who likes to look at paintings or sculptures or pottery can be termed as elite?
ReplyDeleteI was in London England recently. I went into the Tate Modern gallery and the National Gallery. I saw lots of different folks in there. I guess they were all "elite".

ReplyDeleteAll in the eye if the beholder. You find elite in most fields and professions and they usually did not advertise it.
See small concerts, paintings, sculptures or pottery? Are you saying Aurorans were unable to see these events without the SCC ?
