I think they were misled. They will have to decide if that is true &, if so, who might have done it.

A thousand dollars for each time I have seen this story played out would be enough to pay a ransom.
Residents do not like neighbourhoods to change.
One individual always assumes leadership.
Expertise is claimed.
Councils are bullied, beaten and cajoled into doing what "the people want."
All of "the people " are not in contention.
Council and staff stand back before the onslaught.
Developers hold themselves apart from the fray.
Detached composure is the better part of valour..
If a member of council makes the mistake of stating the obvious, a penalty will be collected.
Common sense is recognized but not valued. Judgement exercised is angrily contested.
It's not so much failure to accord respect as withholding of same.
The difference is subtle but sufficient and it costs electoral support.
Bendable Barbies and Kens are very much appreciated.
The golf course development drama has played itself out as it must.
There are no villains . No buying and selling of souls. No evil plot.
The play's the thing.
Everyone took his/her predetermined place on the stage.
After three full performances, a curtain call was the obvious finale. Although council did initiate
a further performance. More sound and fury signifying nothing.
I didn't need to be there. I've seen it all before.

I remember when this all started - you didn't even want to discuss the process so much was it foreordained.
And it has come to pass. the only thing remaining to be decided is how council will react. I do hope we are
not going to hire speciality lawyers to mount some kind of defence at the OMB. Newmarket tried that and it
did not turn out well.
I agree with you when “stating the obvious, a penalty will be imposed.” But why is that? I think, when it’s not done, the consequences are worse. The developer wants the build, Government wants the build. The build was established as soon as the developer got involved in this project. The OMB is sometimes used as a negotiating resource, but that can be risky, depending on the demands made by the residents. Anything that could have been agreed upon can go out the window along with all the money and time. How’s that for stating the obvious?
Council goofed with the promise of yet another meeting. Everything that could be said had been said.
I put that one mainly on Cllr Humfryes. She never wants to let go.
We've all seen it before and we are sick of it.
There was a situation a number of years ago where an OMB adjudicator acted as a moderater and was able to bring the parties together so that a hearing could be avoided.
Why is everyone so negative about possibilities?
13:58 - Oh...and that's free? Why can't the Town act as a moderator?

Surely you jest ? The Town could not agree on what to do with a trio of trees.
