"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

THERE IS A TIDE

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "EBB TIDE":

These US political drama shows have been very entertaining. I've missed 2 days of Soap's. Drama on Y&R is lame compared to these primaries.

**************************************

Be warned. It's easier to get hooked because the drama is real and the stakes are high.

Earlier this morning , a CNN analyst declared Republicans, like it or not, are linked to their leading candidate. Seven members are up for re-election in November. Doesn't seem like many but if they go down with the candidate ,it could make a difference.

This afternoon Gloria Borger,CNNs senior analyst suggested Democrats would link Republicans to the candidate.

It's hard to see how it could be otherwise.

Yet the concern is NOT that he is favored  among Republicans

They say he has galvanized  " less educated " blue- collar Americans, the young and people who
never voted before.

But rich, powerful, educated Americans also rally to his support.

Endless discussion of how to stop Trump being Trump and /or the GOP nominee occupied all of Thursday.

The unthinkable is thinkable.

"There is a tide in the affairs of men"  and they are trying to turn it back and pretend Trump does not represent American values.

Yet it seems he does.  To the significant extent he is likely to be Republican nominee in the race for
the Office of President of the United States of America.

Enough Americans believe in what he represents to make it happen.

Hillary won the State of Missouri today. Senator Sanders conceded.

It means the tension will grow until November.

The battle will be ferocious. Until the last vote is counted ,the result will not be known.

I'm glad we don't see all the ads.

BTW , the process for choosing a Supreme Court Judge seems better than ours.

I caution anyone that uses CNN or FOX as their resource for US politics.... they are skewed to their own editorial biases.....

Some are still fighting their civil war. Others are furious about the election of a black man to the presidency- twice.
Nothing honourable about this election but perhaps there never was.

I remember getting hooked on General Hospital when I had a sick kid home for a while. Easy to see how some folk
spend entire days watching the stuff.

My addiction these days is Oregon Live. I can read it anywhere, anytime. All kinds of education on the US constitution while watching the Feds round up RWNJs with guns & delusions.
