"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

LITTLE BOY BLUE COME BLOW YOUR HORN

A comment posted at 4.09pm is well received. I  regret I can't publish it.

It  reflects badly on the elected body but that's not the problem. Politicians cannot expect to
be all things to all of the people all of the time. It's not in the nature of the beast.

They can fight back and they can fight dirty if they so choose.

Whatever happens on their watch, they are ultimately responsible.

A person outside the political circle has no protection and can easily be made the fall guy for political chicanery.

We have seen it all. People without credentials in positions of authority for reasons other than.

Senator Mike Duffy is a classic illustration of political expediency at its deadliest. He is an unsympathetic figure but It's a cinch he regrets the day his path crossed Stephen Harper's
and he became involved in a game he thought he knew so well.

Whatever financial advantage or satisfaction gained from results of the last election, ,he can never
recover or be compensated for personal damage sustained through a trial of thirty-one criminal charges filed against him. The Judge's decision will always be suspect.

Aurora Council. like any other, is ultimately and completely responsible for whatever decisions are made. No consultant or professional adviser can shoulder that responsibility. Consultants
are given terms of reference which pre-determine recommendations.

Politicians ask to be allowed to serve. Whatever twists and dodges engages them after election will inevitably catch up with them sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, to the disadvantage of all of us.

T'was ever thus and never more so than now.

At every level of government.

I realized that what I wrote and sent you would be appreciated but would never see the light of your blog. Possibly I should have printed it before sending as the second portion certainly could be published. I didn't and have no inclination to repeat.

Certainly the "twists and dodges" engaging them after election will inevitably "catch up with them sooner rather than later." But in my opinion never soon enough and without the serious consequences that would result in their being thrown out of office so that they "could sin no more."

It is an outrage that a CAO in the position for just over four months has created one of the stupidest most ignorant discussions concerning the town of Aurora and possibly an important part of its future and that the majority of council are meekly following along behind.

There are bubble brains seated around the council table. There has not been a single salient fact proposed or discussed but we are already raping the Hydro Fund for $10 million. The Hillary House Amusement Park might have made more sense.

Meek and bubble heads? I don't think so. Maybe one or 2 of them, but I think most of them know exactly what's going I remember listening to Wynne statement about not having any knowledge of the planned cancellation of the gas plant contract, and remembered thinking right there and then she was so full of BS. The deceit that has always sourounded politics at all levels is getting worse. The financial losses have never been bigger.

Wayne's signature is all over the gas plant contracts. She was in the inner circle.
That election was a gift to her from the opposition who show no sign of doing anything constructive is advance of the next one.

We'll probably have another "inquiry" in a few years with this environmental scam that they want to roll out. Gotta love these things that we spend millions of $ on and nobody goes to jail. They just get rewarded with a nice pension, a book tour, belong to consulting firms, become directors to boards, work for developers or teach at universities.
