especially in this election period. I can't pretend I enjoy Stephen as much as I did David's cutting wit.
Susan is a brilliant actress and a strong woman...going the rounds of talk shows to promote her latest
movie, "The Meddler"
I expected she would be asked which Democrat she supported for President. I did not expect the answer. Senator Bernie Sanders currently has her vote in the California Primary.
She was more than willing to explain why.
Hillary could not be trusted because she voted for U.S. invasion of Iraq.
Susan and others went to urge Hillary to oppose the invasion but she didn't.
Senator Sanders voted against the war.
Colbert inquired how she would vote if Sanders didn't win the nomination. She simply said "I'm not here to talk about that"
Much depends on what one expects from a politician.
Is the hope for a representative who reflects all of one's views ?
Or does one hope for honesty?
I voted for Jean Chretien because he refused to send Canadians to die in Iraq. I was proud of the Canadian decision.
The American President made the decision. Information provided to Senators came from a Republican Administration and naturally supported the decision.
Hillary Clinton exercised her judgement and cast a vote in favour.
She was not alone. it was a majority vote.
It was the wrong decision. But rules don't require decisions to be right. Only that the majority decides.
It can be a majority and still be wrong.
Hillary did not change her vote because someone told her she should. She stayed true to her conviction.
Does that mean she can't be trusted?
Mais non, mon ami.
It means she does exercise personal judgement.
I used to say, I am the best person I know to represent me.
If you want me, I will represent you too.
I'm as good as the best and better than the rest.
I haven't changed my mind.
I still think Susan Sarondon is a brilliant actress and a strong woman but her measurement of trust in
politics is not well measured.

I enjoy when you make a correction and spell a work wrong. Makes my day.
@16:45
Correct what? LOL
@19:06
Spell a what? LOL
Susan Sarandon is a wacky woman with multiple interests and endeavours in the left leaning social world.
She might be a wonderful actor (correct use of the word) but politically she is a screw-up, as you confirm.
So what. She is entitled to her opinions.
And this Colbert creature is no replacement for Jon.
@21:25
As the moderator mentioned, Stephen Colbert is David Letterman's replacement. Trevor Noah took over from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.
She is a great actress. I'm sure she has managed to vote for the "incorrect" individual at sometime in her life....so she is not the boss of others.
I do so miss Jon Stewart. He apparently has work he loves but what a time to retire !
