Not a pretty sight.
Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Pull the covers over your head.":
What's your take on the defections from the Lucid Group? It's now looking more like a one man band.
****************
I watched the first presentation on television. I thought it was pretty slick. But that's about what I expect from a promotion.
I watched the second presentation. It seemed to be gathering steam.
I became aware of the dirt-digging and mud -slinging .You know the stuff indulged in by people of self-professed high moral standard such as expected of a person elected to public office.
The last scuttle-butt had something to do with support payments not made. ..
I thought...is that my business ? Does it having anything to do with a professional production of a week-end entertainment in a town park
Is someone stealing from the town? Or practicing extortion?
I don't think so.
Then I received a copy of an e-mail sent to the Mayor's office with names of those who no longer wished to be associated. with
the production company.
It's not likely to bring support payments any closer to being made.
Is that my business ? I don't think so.
But I think I just witnessed a human skewered for no reason than that he unwarily projected into the orbit of a small ugly planet spewing out virulent noxious fumes and gases.

could it be the planet Snowball and its three moons ,or make that goons
It does appear to be trouble. But not trouble for Aurora as Ballard is screaming. No money has been committed by the town & staff were still working on possible arrangements. The only way we could possible lose would be if this allowed the Jazz Gang to slip back into town with their annual sucking sound.
But I do feel badly about that guy who spoke so well at council and stood up to all the personal attacks. It does not mean that he has done anything wrong just because people are distancing themselves from him. He was wearing a bunch of garbage dumped on him by 3 of our councillors and his friends might have been frightened.
Aurora lives up to its unfortunate reputation as an ugly little town on such occasions.
But, you are quite right, Evelyn. This is not our business even if it is dreadful to watch. Witch hunts always are & we cannot stop this particular one.
That ball is firmly in Lucid's court.
We need the present incarnation of the Pied Piper to spend some time in
Aurora and rid us of all the rats. We have an infestation of them.
How about $1 a head?
Embroiled as usual in their petty politics, the sanctimonious triplets appear to have destroyed a decent man who treated them with humour and respect.. They are disgusting!
I don't know what the current full story is here about Lucid and the Town. It seems to come in small pieces of this and that.
But I do think that whatever happens (and I predict that there won't be a Lucid production in Aurora this summer) we'll be hearing from some councillors how they saved Aurora from Lucid. And by the way, why don't we get the old show back into the Town Park as they were so much easier to work with, etc etc.
(I haven't seen any more developments about Newmarket's Jazz+ Festival other than their self published press release back on Jan 1st.)
Every councillor voted to move the Lucid proposal forward (it was not set in stone as yet) and now Councillors Ballard & Gallo are all over it with a "told you so" attitude. Why didn't they vote against it in the 1st place? I'm just waiting to hear the similar response from Councillor Gaertner. It's apparent that Ballard has it in for Dawe and I won't be surprised if he doesn't proclaim at some point that we were better off with the recent ex-mayor and he supports her to run again. Anything and everything is possible in Aurora. So be it for whatever has come out about Lucid but it appears that someone's been working behind the scenes to discredit them. There's more than 1 political agenda being spun here. All over a crazy music festival. Seems to me that it's all good modern material for the next Stephen Leacock. Anyone have a copy of "Sunshine Sketches of a Small Town". Perhaps we can read ahead and see whatelse is going to happen in Aurora. Good thing we only have storm ponds around here.
Ballard's reasoning is quite unique. He and his bully duo kicked Lucid in the teeth from the very beginning. But he claims it is the Mayor's fault for not letting them be heard. Well, we all heard them loud and clear and ugly. It is all on tape.
Verbal assault is just one or two removed from felonious assault.
Too bad you can't muzzle the tiresome trio.
One bark is yes, two barks are no.
Welcome to Salem,
People will think twice about investing here...
It is too early to tell. but I believe that Councillor Ballard has pissed off a large # of people in different groups who were hoping that Lucid would be a success. No one is placing blame on the Mayor or other Councillors. Certainly not on staff as Ballard probably plans. It was a tightly-knit little unit that took a good idea and killed it. His Gang.
I see the era banner has joined the bandwagon...STARS BACK OUT emblazoned in bold font...like the national enquirer style rag its become...cancel my delivery please!
Ballard wrote on this blog, "The promoter has attracted some talented people to his consortium, but we should not let fast talk and big names blind us to what is best for Aurora."
Now Ballard and Gallo are crying that the big names are gone from the picture. How ironic is that.
We are really starting to be f...ed community here in Aurora, crawled up from one pile of crap into another one, and I have no doubt that Aurora Jazz- Festival supporters are all on it.
Very very anonymous resident here.
Alison & Scott are very good in the Auroran.
"big names"? I doubt anyone would know those people if they tripped over them.
And March 7 9:59, Ev, you let yourself down posting such nonsense.
