Would the same restrictions be in place so that board members with groups like the Morraine Protection outfits also would/could not be paid ? For some reason I had obtained the impression that it was possible to make quite a tidy sum if you sat on enough boards. Maybe I'm confusing this the various Regional committees.

Members of the Regional Board of Health, Police Service Board and South Lake Simcoe Conservation Board  are all paid. There may be other boards which have been created since the Region was established in 1971 that I don't know about.

I'm not sure about the two Oak Ridge Moraine Agencies. There's a Foundation and a Trust.  I don't know who would pay them. I do know they are not paid by Municipalities . Some agencies create themselves. It's not hard. An organisation just has to have a constitution and  be registered with the Province to claim  to speak  for a group.

The Smart Commute Group pay themselves a salary. I believe there are two and a half of them on the payroll.
