"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Why do we need to continue to try tie everything that is bad in the Town with Morris - MacEachren - St. Kitts.

I honestly think that we have become so jaded in our views that 0everything is linked to these three.

I personally do not think that the collective mind of the three of them is not bright enough to think up half of what is purported to be.

*********

Four years of these three and their various supporters conducting town business in accordance with their understanding of how things should be created many situations that scream out to be corrected.

A fresh start with a new council is not fresh. A huge amount of cleaning up needs to be done. It needs a determined effort.

The agreement to purchase culture is a legacy this council inherited. Prying something loose from the tight grasp of vested interests in a political arena is not the easiest task in the world.

The annual budget is the time for change. If new taxes are simply added to old expenditures, you can be sure, no change is intended.

Excess spent on legal bills, half a million in payments to a non-accountable appointed board and $50,000 to the Arboretum group. That was $100,000 last year and Bullfrog Power and Smart Commute and precious metal awards on paper certificates in the name of the Chamber of Commerce, to successful businesses and money spent on a parade formerly supported voluntarily and a dozen other large and small extravagances represented as efficient management is unworthy of my intelligence and a betrayal of trust.

The crazy uncontrolled spending with nothing to be seen for it is all in there still.

New numbers added to old, simply swell the burden further and Little Jack Horner sat in a corner eating his Christmas pie, he put in his thumb and pulled out a plum and said what a good boy am I.

Fat cats preen and purr and flick their tails, secure in the illusion the rest of us are so dazzled by handsome mien, we fail to notice anything of value exists behind the facade.

Well, in the tape of the Council, Gallo looks exactly like an old badger we used to feed during winter in the Alps.
Don't know who does the styling or if he has ever seen it from the top but it is hilarious.

I like the last paragraph in particular.

By handsome mien are you by any chance referring to Councillor Gallo's brilliantined alternating black and white striped hairdo?

The closest I have encountered this in the real world is the Alpine badger.

Take the night off. The party at the Mansion should be interesting and we might know people who are there., And then it will be a new day with fresh snow on the ground.

To 8:37 pm.

He will have stiff competition as a visionary is setting sail their ship soon.

A vision with plan will defeat a man who peddles others visions.

Really ? Don't think so, but good luck with that.
Sounds like more promo for the usual suspects.

You are clearly talking about a female 'visionary' which scares me silly. Just what Aurora needs 'a vision with a plan'. Not. Do you write this stuff yourself ? "Setting sail their ship soon" sounds like a really bad novel. If this weren't posted in early morning, I would suspect drink taken. Back to the old writing desk, please.
