okay... I am sure that Council approved the
expenditure.
I think there was more deliverables from this than what you
indicate - editorial license I guess.
You have to spend money to move
forward. People complain that we are not moving forward. Can't have it both
ways.

I thought I would just post the information and get some reaction without offering my own.
I'm not sure where the Visioning Statement indicates forward moving action or any action at all.
It is positively turgid
If the purpose of the exercise was to satisfy complaints of not moving forward, of which I am unaware, I would appreciate re-assurance the visioning statement doesn't actually set us back a century.
Maybe what we did was spend $80,000 for the appearance of moving forward. In my opinion. we don't even accomplish that.

What exactly is a Visioning Statement?
Is this what happens when one sees an angel or a Saint or some such manifestation and tells about it?
It's unfortunate that you can't show the editorial cartoon from today's Globe and Mail.
There is a big banner with "THE VISION THING" written beneath a Canadian flag suspended from the balcony in the House of Commons.
In front of the Speaker's chair and in the centre of the floor is a mule, an oil well pumping machine, and to the rear of it are two oil drums, labelled OIL.
At least that vision thing is producing something of value.
Nice sleight of hand by staff while everyone was tied up with the ACC. Does Council not even notice they are being played? Do they care enough to ask hard questions and demand answers? Toronto is thinking of a casino and a brothel to make end meet. Aurora won't be far behind.
This is exactly the type of star gazing bull shit that goes on at that funny round sided building about two miles north of Aurora, You know the one that was allowed to run over budget by millions by the same group that have sunk us all into 2 billion in debt, But it’s Ok It was all in the vision.
seems like this disease has made its way to our once proud town built on hard work, common sense and accountability , exactly whats lacking at that funny round sided building two miles up the road

You're an idiot if you truly think that staff is somehow trying to play council.
Is there no common sense on these blogs anymore? - of course not, there never was.
Toronto thinking of a casino and a brothel. I hate to burst your conservative bubble, there are lots of casinos around Aurora now... they sell lottery tickets, sports betting, etc. - they are your local convenience store. As far as brothels are concerned, same thing. Independant ladies working out of their houses or apartments all of the time. Under the radar of law enforcement. They are not hurting anyone.

No, they are not hurting anyone ???? They are just a tax on stupidity or haven't you noticed that? Ah, dumb question to ask you.
Anonymous @ 11:29 AM
I quite agree that the lotteries are a tax on the stupid. However, a large number of Walmart shopping, stretchy pant wearing rednecks love to think that they will strike it rich someday by playing their numbers. If they want to spend their money, I do not fault any municipal government trying to get a piece of the action if it means that it has a positive impact on my tax bill.
Same is true about this whole brothel broo-ha-ha. There is a demand, there is a supply, why not let the tax collector get a cut?
Dear 8:18 AM
And where have you parked your sense of humour this time? You clearly do not do mornings well.
1:16 PM If you lose the stretchy pants thing, you might have a good idea. Never thought about the percentage of women over men who bought lottery tickets. Aurora Council could apply for a Canada Council grant to determine that - we have staff overly eager to do surveys and studies. Not too keen on pouring sidewalks but we work with what we have.

Where are the brothels in Aurora??? Do they sell gift certificates?
