"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

And Slippery Slithery Change It is.

Wrong again honey... He does it because his son is a member of the QYR and he heads the QYR Association. Did it before he was a councillor, will probably do it after.

Nothing like a well informed public critic.

*****************
We are certainly better informed  than we were before your
comment.
You've given us  the link between the Mormac administration and the Queen's York Rangers.
We now know how the parks department came to be turfed out of the hydro building to make room for :"The Kiddies" as the Mayor called them.
We understand  how Council and the community  were disrespected with  machinations and maneuverings for the Queen's York Rangers  to take possession of the hydro building .
We know why we are looking at  an expenditure of almost twenty million dollars on a joint facility for public works and parks while we receive a pittance in rent from the Federal government for a ten year lease without a termination clause.
We see clearly how yet another of the town's assets was transferred  to a special interest group because of  who their connections were.
We saw it all happen  during one term  of council and confirmed in a second term by a different Council.
Are we witness to  how change happens, principals are abandoned, integrity becomes a stranger, even in a small close-knit community of fifty-five thousand strong ?
Is this the change we are expected to embrace ?

It appears that there are a great number of politicians who have sought public office not so that they could serve the people, rather that they could serve themselves.

This is probably part of the nature of the human animal.

"To thine own sell be true."

Not very nice.

Occasionally one of the other sort comes along, just not often enough.
