Ah, back in the days when we had a Clerk with confidence and experience.
OMG..I thought it would be another $25-30,000 study which would be bad enough. Thanks for the info Enchanter, it's very much appreciated. But seeing the a actual cost and the approval...I'm sorry I asked. Sickening.
No wonder they acted so gob-smacked. They were all expecting it to be easy. Carry on, Councillor Buck.
I would like to see a complete list of all contracts awarded to consultants since December 1, 2010.
The list should show the name of the consultant, the project for which the retainer was made, the cost of the the fee, the recommendation in the report, the cost of fulfilling the report, and what part, if any, of each individual contract was actually carried out. Finally whether the work was completed over or under the dollar amount proposed by the consultant, i.e. as budgeted.
This is all public information and Council should arrange to publish this on the town's website.
Failure to do so is a gross breach of accountability and transparency.
christopher explains why we do not know what happens in town and how much it costs for our ignorance
This might actually be entertaining to watch. I guess if you are going to go out in a boat, you should know how to bail. I'm not sure councillors considered that possibility.
I hope the group opposing this project realize that these councillors are going to try very hard to just keep on trucking. I had no idea that they were all so involved. This cannot be blamed upon staff or lack of communications. It is likely going to be a real tussle.

I wouldn't be able to stomach that $ amount. I've personally have heard enough to know that we need a new Mayor and 7 new councillors.

Sometimes it is enough to just shuffle the deck. We are going to have to try for a new one ----again.
I invite everyone here to go back four years on this blog and read some the flowery posts about some of the current council members.
One thing is sure. You never get what you think you are going to get and it is usually worse.
Careful what you wish for, you may get it.
Be careful what you wish for.
