"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Does writing all this stuff make you feel better?

How about some visions for what we might expect in the future, let's say during the next four years?

Most people are sick and tired of what is past, and probably have some dreams and aspirations for the days and years ahead.

Please invite them to share with us.

Why don't you do that?

Ask Councillors and the Mayor each to share their dreams and aspirations ...answer all your questions and keep you informed about  progress...in a daily post.

Then rather than having to endure the tedium of reading what "most people are sick and tired of reading " you could have the joy and excitement of reading about the dreams and aspirations of those who have been given an opportunity to realize them.

Should  I be the one to remind you I was not elected .My dreams and aspirations are hardly  relevant to "most  people"

My input  is necessarily narrowed to the sidelines. Writing what  I know to be true and providing answers  to questions asked of me.

If it doesn't please you ...be my guest .. seek your truth elsewhere.

I will just keep plugging along, filling in some of  the uncomfortable pesky little details that throw a better light on a subject.

I never promised you a rose garden.

We used to have Alison's program where she let politicians talk about themselves. She was very soft-ball with them but it allowed you to get a better idea. Getting them to answer a bunch of questions for the Auroran does nothing useful.

A couple of days ago I read a lengthy piece describing a proper future culture centre that could be interactive with many of the town's residents, of all ages.

What I found very interesting is that there was not a single comment.

I guess your readership likes to dwell on the subjects about which you write.

Hard to understand.

Please continue blog master. We need someone experienced in the ways of municipal government to decode and analyze.

12:59 I think i know which comment you are talking about. I read it, it was way too complicated and would require lot of resources plus the engagement maybe unpredictable. Costly dream, nice idea. Very similar idea to McIntyre Hillary park idea.

Much of what was said on Alison's show turned out to be nonsense once the individuals were at the table. Cllr Humfryes went on about how she was going to watch out for the big ticket items and concentrate on the Museum...total twaddle.
But some of them never bothered to do the program at all.

14:37- The way she voted on the "big ticket items" our taxes would have increased in the double digits every year in the past 4.
