"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

OH DEAR WHAT CAN THE MATTER BE ?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "TIME FOR TOM TO BLOG....THE MORE THE MERRIER":

Bu then who will provide you with all the insider info for your blog? It wouldn't make sense to have two blogs posting the same info, taking the same stance? We think you should keep doing the dirty work and let him keep his hands "clean".

********************************************

Read and contemplate for a minute. Now... Quick..  Guess who might have written that?

Who on Council, would feel sufficiently threatened by the amiable Tom Mrakas to make an accusation like that?

Right. You got it in one.

It would be the little fella with the big ego. He  who feels everyone should  just be quiet and let him be
In charge.

It's odd how an oversized ego doesn't equate to self-confidence.  He still needs to bring Tom down by accusing him of giving away Council secrets to moi.

One would imagine winning the highest number of votes would make him secure in the knowledge of
being  Supreme Being.

Feelings of unassailability must be his constant companion.

Surrounded by sycophants, assuring him of his superiority.

Oh Dear...what can the matter be
Dear Dear what can the matter be
Oh  Dear what does the boyo fear
When he's already ahead of the pack.

What more can we do for a man who has everything to make him feel loved?

I really can't imagine a member of a small town council getting his knickers in a knot over a perceived or real threat from another councillor.

Except for you, and you were getting gang banged by six-pack of maggots. And so you responded, with justification.

Ego can be defined as self-esteem or inflated opinion of self, neither of which is particularly becoming.

I say let Tom look after himself - he is more than capable - and let the other fellow continue to make an ass of himself. Heritage trees indeed!

Some members of Council appear to be almost wetting their pants at the thought of Tourism Aurora.

Can someone please list a half dozen "tourist destinations" that will attract people to Aurora: from Bradford, from Stouffville, from Bolton, from Schomberg - all within easy driving distance of our town?

This sounds like another make work project for a consultant to conduct a study as to what draws people to real tourist destinations and do we have anything akin to those?

I do agree that he is making them anxious. They did not understand that he was going to be around at awkward moments
asking uncomfortable questions, Maybe they expected something along the lines of /cllr Gaertner who has a few pet themes
and can be keep calm and manageable, Or Cll Humfryes who just loves everything to the tune of our cash reserves,
I have no idea how Cllr M is going to turn out but his beginning is auspicious,

"It's odd how an oversized ego doesn't equate to self-confidence."

Well, it certainly does in your case.

I think there might be a communications problem at the town hall since the CAO departed. It is possible that he
was the only link with staff. That flow of information was likely essential when decisions were made.
But I'm just guessing based on some of the recent fumbles.

Boy, wouldn't you look a fool if it was not who you are accusing.

Evelyn it is possible that you are wrong about who wrote the comment, however this post is long overdue. Thanks.

Doesn't matter who wrote the comment - the councillors that " did not read blogs " included that one.

I'd say she's way off the mark.

Stronge agreement.

Tourism in Aurora...Ya right! They should take care of the crap they have on their plates right now instead of adding to it.

He's on the right path. Although he's going to need a lot of support from residents and businesses. He can't do it on his own.

I don't.
