"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

NOTHING IS THAT SIMPLE

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "THREE BLIND MICE .....AND MORE":
"How can so many be so consistently and routinely blind to the obvious?"

Simple.

STUPIDITY.

Well..see... It's  too simple for my taste.

I have a hard time visualizing that level of stupidity.

I have to believe there was another reason.

It  kept  coming back ,time after time ,with a different explanation every time?

Like it didn't matter how it got it through as long as it got through.

On one occasion, Richmond Hill  was reported to have built  it. The Ministry of  Environment was in
on the deal.

Now we hear the process is  useless.

 We already knew that

On the face of it, how could  Councillors let themselves be so easily persuaded ?

Why would anyone  be willing to toss a million dollars to the wind?

Sure .... $287,000 had already been spent on a design.

Still what possible political advantage could there  be to waste another $700,000.They even upped the budget from $850,000 to a million.

Some might argue it was because the old woman on Council was the one making the case in opposition.

Now  that would really be stupid....right ....yeah,right.

I hear the joint facility is being stripped down to bring it in under the mega -million contract price.

An oversight committee was appointed to keep  track. Are they reporting regularly? I haven't heard.

A design was approved and a contract awarded for that design to be delivered at a given price.

If that's not what we're getting should that not be public information?

Renovations  to the Aurora Family Leisure Centre didn't turn out well under the same supervision.

Total silence surrounding cost control of the joint facility is not re-assuring.

I think Newmarket got one of those removal outfits. Someone put a comment up here about the trucks running into it all night
during the winter snow season and causing complaints from residents. There is likely still someone reading your blog who would know,

Yeah, and the savior of this country has apparently arrived today. Let us all smile.

I bellieve what the have is a depris sepatator. The Town was duming the snow at the Ray Twinney center, which is surrounded by residential homes. The noise at night by the trucks was apparently really bad and they had to always chase kids away from the monster snow banks.

Smiles come easily on a day like today. The long, national gloom has been lifted.

Let the long and enormous national debt begin.

@ 8:30
Suppose you concentrate right here in Ontario with that give-away to the already loaded Teachers' Fund ?
If you would stop screaming about the sky falling, we might even be able to do something on that front.
