Some people are aware that money is going out far faster than it is coming in & that the development charges are slowing down. Highland is going to take forever to get sorted out and Mavrinac will produce nothing . it will cost the town - when the residents finally figure out what they want. Now it is passive stuff like hop-scotch !
BUT. And it is a big but. There is no will or push to change with this council. They feel secure.
I am not advocating any action at all - let another group take the reins this time

Therein lies the problem, my friends. This was a fresh Council as was the one before. Little has changed.
They are not snoozing at all, at all. They are very busy responding to the demands of special interest groups.
The rest of us are not advocating anything. The status quo is apparently acceptable with the affluent majority.
"There is no will to push or change with this Council".
Exactly.
Money is not going out faster than it's coming in. Taxes rise to feed the greedy maw.
Nary a murmur is heard.
"Wait until the next election....we'll show them"
There are two more budgets between now and the next election. Lots of opportunity for this council to buy itself back into office.
Why wouldn't they? It's a sure-fire strategy.
Never has it been easier for residents to inform the elected what they want from the municipality.
The needy ones just ask the Mayor quietly and the rest will fall into place.
To recline in a semi- somnambulant state and wave a languid hand in the general direction is not
conducive to change.
Every day I receive several petitions to sign.
None of them have anything to do with town business.

Most councils are "fresh" with one thing in common. No substantial ideas that would benefit the community at large.
The present mayor has accomplished nothing on behalf of Aurora taxpayers other than over-send millions on several projects, one of which is still filled with problems, many of them small.
He has promoted and presented several ideas, studies and plans, all of which have amounted to absolutely nothing.
And members of council each seem to have their own little projects, most of them resulting in zilch, other than expenditure of the public purse.
These people should be subject to some form of rating system, and their salaries should be adjusted with their performance. Much the same as the ratings agencies rate public companies and governments. Although it must be acknowledged that the raters can screw up big time, and often do.
We are stuck with a bunch of dead horses and nothing to pull the carts.
Government, at all levels, is useless and very expensive.
The Mayor does have some set views. The one that brought me up short was that not raising taxes would be a bad thing. Myself, I think we should give it a try instead of digging into the Hydro interest every year to satisfy their spending.
Well...Remember who the alternative was in the last election for Major. The piggy bank and the Hydro fund would of been gone within months of his inauguration. Dawe was the best considering the choice was only one of two. I think we might be able to almost all agree on that one.
