"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "THEE AND ME AND I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THEE":

It is a scary world out there and I am hoping Canada will not be dragged into too much of a mess along with the UK and the US.
This morning I actually looked back with regret to the days when it took so long for news to travel.
Now one can only try to filter out some of the ugliness.

************************************

I stopped reading newspapers when world news dominated local.

Only a certain weight can be carried before being weighted down. Nothing within my sphere of influence could change awful things happening thousands of miles away. I needed whatever sustenance I had for events closer to home.

I am trying to shut out the presidential race. The GOP seem prepared to destroy their society
sooner than acknowledge a black American President or contemplate a white woman as President.

Now they have a mass shooting of police officers with a high-powered automatic weapon.

It was no terrorist who mowed down officers in Dallas.

It was an army veteran, trained by American military, who has seen active service.

What possessed him to act so much out of character?

In his own home town, to be blown to pieces by a bomb, part of the police arsenal.

Every aspect of the story horrifies.

Can it get worse before it gets better? It's hard to visualize worse.

It hasn't been a whirlwind.

Loss of respect for the institution of law and order has been evident and growing since Ferguson, August 10, 2015.

Completely Off Topic.
Raonic will play Andy Murray for the Final at Wimbledon.

I do not know if it is good or bad but Drumph's handlers are trying to keep him off the weekend talk shows. The police chief in Dallas refused to do a photo op with him too. The guy is toxic.

I find they"re all toxic, especially the media. Just happy we're on this side of the border. We have the same issues here, but not on the same scale. Are media is not very responsible either but at least a lot of the drama they try to perform is poor.

I have just finished reading The Auroran.
It looks as if Councillors are going 2 steps forward followed by 2 steps back.
Nothing is get done. Maybe it is the way with all councils when they get a little smug .
Perhaps it is time for another house keeping but I will sit the next one out. Let them have at each other without my angst. There is already too much on the national and international news.

Interesting to see that some American law enforcement have robotic bombs for smithereening bad guys.

Do they also have drone-bombs available?
