Councillor Ballard has not referred to any profligate spending he knows about that prompted him to bring forward his resolution.
On the other hand, Councillor Ballard fully supports handing over hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxes to an autonomous board that has secret meetings to discuss internal management .
Internal management could mean anything one might imagine;including a complete bar wheeled into meetings.
I'm not saying it does.
I'm just saying it could.
Who would know, let alone have control of it.
or even discuss the possibility, because of internal management matters are better handled internally.
It's like a Code of Ethics. He who proclaims the need for a Code of Ethics is of course implying more than that.
He/She being completely righteous is prepared to champion the cause.
Flabby, scaredy- cat, politicians rally to the fake cause, for fear anyone might believe they are not in favour of being righteous .
All the while,those publicly proclaiming righteousness are least righteous; wallowing as they do in mastery of insinuation.of wrong-doing.
No political fiction is complete without a team of righteous characters.
It's always a team, Courage to act alone isn't part of the act.
They function on the edge of hysteria with voices that quickly rise to a scream when faced with opposition.
They see themselves as victims while ultimately capable of incredible cold-blooded, calculating cruelty.

Gosh Evelyn, I didn’t mean to get you going there, but it’s all good to hear.
My point (I’m the original commenter) is that perhaps C. Ballard is making a mountain out of a mole hill all for a public display of how we have to get Town spending under control. And I certainly don’t have anything to serve up on the Aurora council. I was just putting out some thoughts. One of my points was just that at times people make a big issue about the small things all the while missing the bigger picture. And yes, councillors need to keep everything in control but starting with the big ticket items.
And if anyone has an inside scoop on the booze & fancy women please share so that we can all partake.

Any councillor that has attended the Hoe Down, Ribfest, golf tournament, Jazz Festival (sorry had to rub that one in), off-site council meeting, municipal conferences.... should I go on?
Where is the transparency of the expenses to show that they are not.

I think the CoE is like the requirement to get a Police Check to work with kids. He who proclaims the need for a police check is of course implying more than that. The standard retort to those that feel a police check is not required are told "If you have not done anything wrong, you don't have anything to hide."
So, if you have not done anything wrong, what's wrong with the CoE? You have nothing to hide.
