"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Who's That Knocking On My Door?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "We Are Not Angels":
I'm not sure about your reference to "we". Who is "we"?
I do know that democracy is a messy, nuanced concept.
I'm always concerned when disagreement is dispatched/discounted with labels: "gang" enemy etc.

I wonder about presenting democracy and freedom of speech in polarizing simplistic words and ideas.
Just wondering, just wondering.
**************
And the last shall be first.
You are not "just wondering"
You are making accusations  and couching your words  in a way to get them posted.
"We:"   is a term often used here.
We are a group .We write regularly and comment often..
We do not always agree but we recognise that's what makes the exchange interesting . We enjoy the opportunity to participate.
Occasionally, we have a hoot together.
Blog is what makes me get up in the morning. I look forward to my day.
It gives new meaning to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
It's a joyful affair.
Sour and sarcastic put-downs of what we are about are not welcome and will not be published.
Price of admission to the club is appreciation of the chance  to express an opinion for the sake of it.
Night before last, I caught sight of Deborah Kelly on Channel 10.
She was being interviewed  about  receiving  an award from  the Character Community.
Full of virtue and righteousness and an example for all of us lesser  creatures.
Not.

Deborah Kelly has had new photos taken & is upping her appearances in town. I believe she is running for the next election when all I want her to do is stop throwing her blasted paper into my driveway. The last cancellation lasted only 2-3 weeks and it was back again last week. Soggy & unread - straight into the blue box.

We are all going to get the Banner turfed at us. T'is the Christmas advertising flood and they have likely promised to ' deliver ' X papers and flyers. Mine has come un-cancelled too.

As Aurorans, I would think you would embrace and support a local company that employees fellow residents.

Cancellation calls are routed to Newmarket. And any company is judged by the quality and usefulness of its product.

" Local?" Check out the non-news coverage. Did they ever bother to report on the Former's court appearance in Newmarket?

Someone used to send me articles by Sean P. They were very good. Then there was an item about a really brave woman in South Lake. So it isn't all negative - just the Kelly lectures. No wonder the town cut their calendar to the Auroran. The print is decent and the content inclusive.
