Last night, the decision was made to approve spending $26 mullion dollars on a Joint Facility for parks and public works.
It was the Mayor's decision.
Council was divided.
The Mayor cast the deciding vote
$26 million with only half in support and half opposed.
It started at $12 million
It's not likely to be the end of it.
That's not a comfortable position for a Mayor
A wiser man might have hesitated.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread

It was his call & he has made it.
As it began, it ends.
The only positive that I can find in such a split decision is that the Heritage Puff-ball should be totally vanquished.
Please, oh, please, could the cartoonist in the Auroran run for election ? Please ?
"Council was divided.
The Mayor cast the deciding vote."
Democracy is a bitch!
I heard Clr. Pirri’s car analogy. Thought he was joking until he tried to explain his analogy. And I couldn't believe his statement about having not heard about other options/solutions. Really? I was kind of sitting on the fence with him when it came to the election in October, that’s if he decides to run….Not anymore.
Cllr Buck, when have you been known to take a step back?
Your 'lack of wisdom' is another person's decisiveness and conviction.
The division of opinion seems to exist in the community too. Some, like Cllr Thompson, might argue that this is because of a failure of communication. I'm thinking that there is a strong feeling that it might be a very expensive mistake to land on an incoming Council.
10:57- Yep! October 27th is going to be a real bitch for many.

Careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Hopefully it will be another 2010 election result with somewhat of a clean slate of people. You know what they say..."if at you first don't succeed...try try again"
Yeah, 12:59, let's get rid of the rest of the 2010 holdovers!
Add a few more like the Mayor and Barney Fife.
