"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

What t Goes Around...Comes Around

I was offended by your statements in 2009 and equally offended now. Sormeh was/is a vibrant business in Aurora. If you got off your puritan behinds long enough to see for yourselves you would not have to make bone-headed statements like this. Honestly, what year is it? on Not Gossip
********
We should take a moment to examine this comment. It could have been written by either Councillors Gallo or Gaertner.Or not.
Whatever.
There is a problem of course with  the logic.
My reference to a House of Hanky Panky related to the zoning definition of an inn.
It was not related to the applicant for the zoning change.
But the virtuous ones were ever ready to pounce.
Being six in number and of a similar mind-bent, it was never hard to convince themselves of their collective self-righteousness.
They never had any second thoughts.
Defence of hapless victims was/is their mantra
While watching  them hunt down staff quarry like a pack of wolves was a chilling experience.
I have, over the years, acquired a few  maxims myself.
I am glad to share a couple.
I trust until a person gives me reason not to. Then I never trust again.

When someone does me dirt, I waste no time scheming and planning to get my own back. I  wait and watch  for  opportunity to present itself.
It always does.
I always know it the minute I see it.
It's amusing to watch them do it to themselves.

You once called them the gift that kept on giving. At the time, I did not understand because it implied that all their careful planning could hit the wall. That did not seem possible. Now I can enjoy watching. This last one was a doozie.

Ah. The Semantic Police strike again. This character likely loved the Code of Conduct and the 2nd Integrity Tzar. There was a reason why the electorate did not vote for it to become a council member. Arrogance. It was complicit in the entire charade.

I could not believe my ears when Councillor Gaertner spoke at that meeting and claimed that staff had been defamed on the Citizen. Then Gallo popped up with the need to protect staff. Say what? They were going through staff like a scythe!

Poor Ballard. He still thinks taxpayers are content to keep their taxes down & their snow cleared. He is certainly out of his depth, out-thought & out-read by our mangey lot.

Call me crazy but, what does this mangey lot want then?

For me, I expect the Town to provide certain services (fire, snow removal, garbage collection, etc.) at the best price and keep my taxation to the smallest possible. What else is there? That's their job!
