"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Customer Service

I received a  call today from a citizen. Town hall staff  were timed taking a forty minute coffee break. It wasn't a lunch break.
The citizen was in a car outside the town hall with  nothing to do but check the time.
I have heard  Tim Horton's is a favourite spot.
Councillor Pirri  is often seen with staff ..
People talk. They pay attention.
It's a mistake to imagine town staff and Councillors  are not recognised.
Forty minutes for a coffee break  is  excessive.  It's how community resentment grows.
Headline in The Auroran this week is five and a half per cent  tax increase. Add the increase for water and waste water and the increase for municipal services  is probably closer to seventeen per cent.
Several items contemplated  refer to customer service.... like in satisfaction ..like in stake holders.

Maybe if we knew what Councillor Pirri studied, someone could suggest a possible job unless he was just making a joke about being an unemployed councillor. I can see him spending time with staff. Not a bad thing at all - beats sitting in front of a computer taking pot-shots at senior councillors that way snark operates. Of the two guys, we elected the right one, I think.

That depends on which staff members the Councillor is seeing. Please ask your sources if he is spending time with regular working stiffs or the Sunshine Boys who just talk and navel-gaze. The first makes total sense.
