"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Like Children

I think most of us who particpate on this blog would acknowledge we are a mixed bunch.. Some of us are volatile. We glory in hyperbole. We are continually admonished for the habit by our more restrained members. But we do it anyway.because we like it. We relish the freedom not to be correct.

Where else could we say the outrageous things we say here with a straight face ?

We would likely fall to the floor in laughter  at our own ridiculousness. But it's fun.

We were probably five years old  last time we tried out a new word or expression we had heard used by adults and decided to try it to see if it fit. Or just to get a reaction, if we instinctively knew we shouldn't.

Adults never give children enough credit for  intelligence. And always expect more judgment than is reasonable.

Intelligence and judgement are not the same thing.

Well...who is paying attention to us in our little blog enclave ? In our keyhole court?  Our road without exit.

If  an unwary somebody strays in among us , they might get a taste of the treatment and never come back Or discover instead, it's like one of  those amusements for children  in McDonald's where you slide down a chute and  bury yourself  in  plastic bubbles of every hue. .

It's just silly. But you climb the stairs again and again  and slide  down the chute and touch stocking toes with someone you don't know and might never see again. It doesn't matter a bit. Except .... there may be a little lesson  to learn...or  just  a way to burn off excess energy...or frustration...or let off steam.

Somewhere,I read gossip defined that way .

Relish? Then this must be Bick's blog.
