"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Week End Gossip

There was quite  a buzz . Apparently Brock Weir of The Auroran was seeking statements about the Code of Conduct for the Market. So thre should be a story in this week's Auroran.
I heard the former Mayor was everywhere. Carrying a notebook and phone camera.

I heard a funny story about three Councillors sitting on the bleachers and Phyllis leaping out of the bushes and taking a seat directly behind them to hear their conversation.

It's probably not true. It's just too silly.

I heard the jam lady is planning to be a candidate in the next election.

I heard after the last election, the  St Kitts condo purchase, prior to the last election was not followed through.

Three hundred people came to the  Hillary House Open House and that was very nice.

I heard the  bell of the Church Street School was refurbished and the Lieuteant GOvernor David Onley was first to ring it in many years. The Culture Centre Board paid for it with funds raise themselves.

I  feel it's a bit weird for the Town Council to be hearing, second hand,  about  such things through a blog written by a Councillor.

Especially since the terms of the agreement  between the town and the lessee ,prohibits such activity  without the town's permission.

Yeah, the Town Hall was on Red Alert on Friday that you were on the warpath about the bell pull. Weren't your enquiries answered? You know, that the proper procedures were followed through the correct channels, and that the Town's permission had been granted.

Not every little decision goes through Council, or else nothing would get done.

What a hilraious picture you paint.
Phyllis the eavesdropping sleuth leaping out of bushes and skulking behind councillors!
Paranoia knows no bounds I guess.

"Paranoia knows no bounds I guess."

You're right, and it seems to run both ways.

Meow! You are so jealous of Evelyn that you are in danger of turning green!

For Christ's sake.... It's a bloody farmers' market. Is the beginning of a new beer hall putsch?

When will our town be freed of the wackos both in power and previously in power?

THIS IS ALL COMPLETELY STUPID!

THERE IS NOTHING THE SLIGHTEST BIT AMUSING ABOUT ANY OF THIS.

Does anyone know, for a fact, the number and/or percentage of Farm Market vendors who actually signed the jam person's attempt at immortality?

This is being taken seriously. As was the Ballard accusation that Mayor Dawe was strong-arming the Centre. As was Bruce Cuthbert's vitriolic display on Evelyn's Blog. They are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Aurora hoping something will stick. The Gang The Couldn't Shoot Straight is in full battle mode.

After reading the Auroran I am in complete shock that this is happening in our town all.It is an episode of The Twilight Zone.
Comply or else is the code, and do not question authority even if there are concerns to the ethics or speaking up to inform the citizens. We should be ashamed if we allow this to happen again.

Actually it is all very amusing to see how people on this web site (and the others in town) get all lathered up about the goings-on in Aurora. I find it very entertaining.....

I only wish people would use some pen-names so that I can keep score.

You are right; it's just really, really sad to live in the midst of a small bunch of dictators.
