There are still raw feelings about the SLAPP law suit against citizens, using their taxes for the purpose. .
Outrage will not vanish any time soon.
I'm not sure comments published in this blog will reach any of the
Liberal executive whose names we've read.
Or make a difference if it does.
Resentment and rage at the injustice still swirls like a whirlpool in a river running at full spate.
The cost has been far more than money.
It's good to have a place to vent. .

Reading some of the retweets in the former mayor's Twitter feed, she somehow - deludedly - sees herself as some sort of victim.
If I have anything to do with it, the truth will get out and I’m betting that the Liberals could pay a big price for the past and present actions of their executive at the ballot box.
I respect that not all members of the party are going to agree that publicly funded SLAPP litigation is in fact anti-democratic and a total abuse of power in light of the fact that the Charter of Rights attempts to protect political free speech by eliminating the right of governments to sue for defamation. We all know that politicians and lawyers can find all sorts of ways to interpret things and that’s fine, but we’ll just have to see what the electorate think when the full story is told.
I think that Morris is likely going to continue to be a victim of her own political decisions.
How delusional can you be to think that the entire Newmarket-Aurora Liberal Riding Association executive is responsible for a SLAAP law suit? Come on people! How many of the posters here on this blog are in the N-A Liberal Riding Assc.? Are you equally responsible?
Gosh! Has it never dawned on the woman that it was the electorate who removed her from office? That would have had to be a massive conspiracy. It's like Ms Pupatello claiming that she was not made leader because she was double-crossed. The voters hold the aces - at least some of the time.

No one said the entire Executive is responsible for the SLAPP. Morris was responsible and she has had the support of others, including Ballard and very likely her campaign manager Ken Whitehurst, the entire way.
What makes you think that they are not capable of doing the same very thing again if given half the chance ? As far as I can tell, based on the evidence before me, they have demonstrated little or no appreciation for the intent of the Charter of Rights to protect political free speech from government legal attacks, the town's Code of Conduct and maybe even the Municipal Conflict of Interest rules. We will have to see what the courts have say about that last point.
We have every right to question the political motives and leanings of the people leading our local Liberal party association. I’m sorry that you think we are delusional for calling into question some of the people in charge of the Liberal Association. Feel free to turn a blind eye or plead willful ignorance.
I was a Liberal... but I’m not so sure now. They have to build credibility and I don't see that happening locally any time soon.
This is really so sad. I hope the Liberal Association is able to get rid of the dead wood quickly & without fuss. A few nasties should not be allowed to put the damper on a coming election. But we have seen them in action in Aurora.

Careful. I'm not sure that you are allowed to share your opinion if it isn't flattering.
If you don't have anything nice to say .... keep in mind that some people in this town seem to think that if someone in government does something that you don't like then they need to remain silent. Only nice language that falls into line is allowed.
I for one don't think that anyone is a "loser". Even the people that got thumped in the last election are "winners" in my book. they just aren't winners of public office.
"Even the people that got thumped in the last election are "winners" in my book."
Please explain, 3:17 PM.
