"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Neither a Smartass Nor a Jackass Be

Here's an interesting thought. If the event was so important to you to witness, why not go to the building and see it live?

With all due respect , the thought is neither interesting nor relevant to the discussion.

Communications absorb a significant investment of public resources.

Residents are entitled to be able to access information without a trek to the Town Hall . We are supposed to be keeping up with the times... you know....the age we live in.

I do not enjoin criticism of the town's communication division . I am not sufficiently knowledgable.

I do not however rule out the possibility blog readers are and are also entitled to express  lack of satisfaction with service paid  with taxes paid by they themselves alone.

It's called accountability;  a modern day buzz word used by politicians of all stripes  and semblance, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It is fall, dark at night. People are tired, kids are grumpy. The mere fact that a few are willing to consider taking time to watch a streamed event should be plenty of attention.
The town web- site just did not deal with the inauguration well. Maybe by next time they'll have learned.

It is ironic that communications improvement was one of the aims of the departing council. Since there are plenty remaining who were present during those discussions. perhaps some progress could be made NOW.

No one is asking the town to provide great whacks of historical information. It would be nice to find the events of the week without jumping through hoops. The swearing-in ceremony should have been right up there with the tree lighting for tonight.

What would residents have done "back in the day" when Evelyn was Mayor? There was no web. I thought that we are living in the '70s on this blog.
