Perhaps the writer could oblige. The missive was copied to all members of council, the CAO ,the Clerk of the Municipality and the two council representatives to the Market.
I've opted to process a resolution to Council for the issue to be discussed.
It's a relatively long and lugubrious process.
But the Mayor does not encourage informal discussion of such issues. He believes it to be micro-managing.
So other than ignoring the problem and hoping it will go away, there is no other option.
Even this may not be available. If the motion is not seconded, it will not reach the table for discussion.

Thank you for the communication received this morning.
The private nature of your organization is referenced multiple times. I assure you my interest is not invasive.
I have been a member of Council since the market's inception.
It was a simple project and small. It would never have amounted to anything, had it not been for the efforts of a single Councillor with support from town staff and the rest of Council.
It was well-received by the community and for that reason,I wished it well.
The original market concept appears to have evolved into something more than asimple gathering on a Saturday morning, and an offering wares and produce, breakfast and lunch.
I am aware of criteria required to be classified as a "Farmer's Market" in Ontario and appear on a distributed list. I'm not persuaded being listed makes a difference to Saturday morning Market activity.
My interest in the Market extends only insofar as vendors are successful and return to do business with the town and residents enjoy the Market experience.
I believe I might share that in common with vendors and patrons.
I am aware activities at the market may have little to do with Farmers.
Ticket-selling and other promotional events ,have used the gathering place to promote special projects. The town uses the market to provide and collect information for various studies underway.
Katherine Belrose used it for fund-raising to save the Petch House. Apparently unsuccessfully for I am not aware of funds contributed for the purpose.
The Market was used regularly to promote St.Kitts entertainment business. Ms St Kitts became event organiser on the executive and only surrendered that responsibility when the executive made the decision it would not be a paid position.
At one time a grant was provided by the town to fund special events.
I believe the facility should be accessible, as it has since the beginning, to any Aurora enterprise that buys a permit .
The Market is a public venue Permits are issued by the Town. It should be inclusive.
Insofar as the Town's Bylaw is concerned, for practical purposes,market representation. is required. The model most familiar is achieved by an election process.
Activities undertaken by the executive outside and beyond town authority, as you have noted is not within the purview of Council. I have no interest in that aspect of the Market operation.
I trust you now have a better sense that my request for a review of the Famers' Market Bylaw seeks only to ensure the original concept is upheld.

I understand your letter. Until the writer of that response figures out a way for the residents [ all of them, not just those reading the Blog ] to read it, the exercise is one of futility.
And David is still not at the market.Why is this being allowed?
The writing of letters makes no sense at all. If one has a PR disaster looming, the deal is to remedy the problem- Fast. It cannot be allowed to fester. The longer the questions about how the market is run are out there, the longer that board looks incompetent.
Like it wasn't micro-managing when the mayor was on board as a supporter of that 3-house monte game with Hydro funds ? Give me a break !!
I have zero interest in how the board members squabble between themselves.
I am very interested when they cannot keep everyone working within the town park contented with minor adjustments. This is not exactly space science.
Since she copied the PDF so widely, maybe it will be in the Auroran tomorrow although that is stretching Mr Weir's dead-line.

I attended the market this past Saturday and noticed many booths on Wells St.,none were farmers or food.
Me thinks the Chair-person has an agenda.

Those condos are not selling while some others in town are going so fast they do not even get listed. Nerves are a bit frazzled & they want someone on council. I expect they are really pi..ed off at losing the s-e designation.
During the last election, people actually avoided the Market. It became a centre of entitled candidates. You could get mugged by them just taking your kids to shop. I recall a few individuals with clammy hand-shakes who manned booths or stood in the paths to prevent one from passing. [ check out Mr Watt's archives ]
It was a serious error to go after Mr Heard this year.
Many of you may not agree with this remark but,I am hoping Mr.Heard puts his top hat in the ring.

I do not agree with you. But not for the reasons you might expect. There is an element in Aurora that fights nasty & personal. Too many residents have already been damaged. There is one constant reminder here on the Blog in the form of Evelyn's troll.

Fix this mess asap.
Unless there is more than one speaker for the Farmers' Market, the time for a delegation is limited to 5 minutes. The councillor with whom the delegate has already spoken is Cllr Humfryes who should have shut this off at the pass.
Cllr Hunfyres will do a reprise of her performance over the " heritage " trees.
She will wave her hands around and bemoan the fact that she does not understand how the situation could possibly occur. This despite the Fact that she had been aware of the problem since it arose.
In the end she still refused to vote to allow that man to finish his property off so that the family could move in.
You can expect the same here.

I do not believe that Evelyn has to do anything. Her motion is out there. She has replied to that letter.
For whatever reason, the executive of the Market has decided to take an inner tube ride over Stupidity Falls.
They have created this problem. They are going to have to bail themselves out of it. If nothing else it should make for some excellent theatre. Because they are in an untenable position.
