"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

About The Dratted Chicanes and Such

Good Morning Paul Sesto
Your points about the Condo at the corner of Centre Street are well taken.  Serious inconvenience created by the traffic calming plan has been an irritant  for residents within  and without that quadrant ever since  it was imposed.

No other area in town has a system of obstacles deliberately  placed to discourage people  from using public rights of way.

It is a contradiction in terms. The neighbourhood has not been a quiet backwater for decades. It is the central core.

Public Rights Of Way  are intended for traffic circulation throughout the town. It's their only reason for being.

It's why keyhole courts and crescents are preferred over collector arteries.

It's not unheard of for a home owner, six months after buying a home on a collector road because of convenience, to demand the town change the purpose of the road because children are at risk.

Everyone acknowledges the gridlock at  Yonge and Wellington intersection . Nobody acknowledges prohibition on turns north and south of Yonge contribute substantially to the problem.

I think this Council is going to need to hear from all the  people denied service  by that crazy plan.

I'm not completely happy with the process  to solicit  input from the community. I'm  hoping the public are paying attention.
