"Cowardice asks the question...is it safe? Expediency asks the question...is it politic? Vanity asks the question...is it popular? But conscience asks the question...is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but one must take it because it is right." ~Dr. Martin Luther King

Fast And Furious Response

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "The Welcome Is Withdrawn.":

Evelyn...

I wrote this response and I take offense to your assumptions. I will remain anonymous but I can assure you of the following.

I am not staff at Church Street School. I am not staff at any Aurora-owned facility. I am not staff at any municipal facility. In fact, I work in a multi-national company that is traded on multiple stock markets and my office is in Peel Region.

I am however a tax payer in Aurora. I am engaging a member of council in a political dispute because as a member of council, you are obligated to hear all residents' concerns.

You clearly do not know how inappropriate it is for you to assume who someone is. It shows how out of touch with reality you are now. It shows how far the pendulum has swung in this bloody mess.

You only speak for a vocal minority that are still bitter that Phyllis Morris ran this Town for 4 years. I was not a supporter of her but I understand what has happened. Since the beginning of this term it has been your mandate and the sheep that follow you to rid the Town of everything she did.

You are long enough to read the mood of the community but I think that you need new glasses because you are not reading it for the ENTIRE community, just the wackos that follow this blog.

****************

Your fast and furious response does nothing to change my  perspective on this issue.

Whatever minority I speak for in this community. it is  larger  than yours.

So put that in your pipe and smoke your  brains out.

You clearly need something to chill..

What about your fast and furious assumption? Does it change that? Who do you think you are making leaps like that?

"Whatever minority I speak for in this community. it is larger than yours."

Is that another one of your misguided assumptions? You have no idea who I speak for. You sound like a grade school kid... "my dad is bigger than your dad". Holy crap!

"So put that in your pipe and smoke your brains out.

You clearly need something to calm you down."

Now isn't that mature? It's like arguing with Pee-Wee Herman.

Someone is clearly feeling the heat. It's the same old. Can't debate the facts so attack the messenger. This one must be a joy in the workplace wherever it may be located. Suggest Anger Management 101 but it may be too late in this case.

Sounds like the anonymous person that wrote the above quote ma benefit from reading “How to wins friends and influence people !”

Any point this person tried to make was lost on me due to the tone and the fact that they are apparently one of the whackos that read the blog.

I'm afraid, Councillor Buck, that that limb that you're getting further out on is becoming increasingly creaky.

If it all so immature, why do you even look at this Blog, let alone allow yourself to become involved ? Can't beat it, can't join it , but can't resist it, can you?

It's a good thing that person attacking you came to your blog and not others because you can take it without the impulse to call a lawyer !

I guess that if you survived the last term Evelyn you can survive a poison pen comment (or two) from an anonymous person that needs no help discrediting themselves.

At the end of a particularly vicious day on the Blog, there has not been a single point made, a single fact given, a single reason provided to indicate that the ACC
is an essential service needed by Aurora. It is simply a nest of anger, spite and acrimony. There can be no peace when one of the parties does not recognize the meaning of the words ' negotiate', 'agreement' ' taxpayers' , 'fair' 'responsible' ' shareholders' 'legal'
'tenants' and the list drags on and on. We have seen you for the bullies you are on this Blog, in the Town Hall and in your secret meetings with our poor Mayor for more than a year with nothing gained.
We will not resort to your tactics of intimidation and threat. What a mess you have made of the word 'culture'.

That’s right Ev put Mr. or Mrs. "Multi National" in their rightful place these narrow minded trolls have no idea or concept on the state of the Towns financial rut, You go about trying to salvage what’s left of the mess and at every turn your accused of settling old scores , Keep on presenting the facts and the analogies , you can’t be more on the mark and we love it

Yet another example of the crazy people that support a bed agreement between the town and the ACC.

Two other great examples come out of this weeks Auroran. One from the York Region Artists something-or-other who had the audacity to say that Aurora was a cultural void before the board came along. And to commend the wonderful job they've been doing - it's not hard get some cultural going when the town is throwing money at you. And when she says that no other town is doing such a good job what's really being said is not other town to foolish enough to throw money at an arms length group with no oversite.

The other shocker here was the boards president "dismissing" the idea that there was a communication breakdown with the town. Can this guy show any more disrespect for the hand that feeds him. Over and over in council it was said that there has been too much rhetoric and misinformation (caused by Ballard and the board itself) and yet this guy has the nerve to dismiss the very idea. My 4 year old uses similar logic..

It always amazes me with this group. If you disagree, the assumption is that a person is crazy. It's a good thing that there are some sane people out there.

Yes, like the people involved in the Town/Board talks these past few weeks.
