It would have been nice to have the name of the guest who provided particulars about the Queen's York Rangers and QYR Association.
Appreciation could be properly expressed.
I always looked to the Royal Canadian Legion for advice on protocol. The military were experts. and the veterans never lost the discipline.
Comments about Councillor Ballard's involvement are noted.
Mr.Ballard was the one with friends in the right places that got the hydro building spirited out from under the same way Church Street School was pirated from the Museum.
Sneaky, snivelling ,wretched, underhanded conniving and skullduggery. Was it the Rangers or the Ballard connected Association. I think we all know the answer to that.
But the Rangers did their case no good when they slyly removed Aurora's name from "The Armouries"
Without a word, they erected a sign on town's property with a new name for the Armouries.
And when there's an important Honorary event, it happens in Richmond Hill.
Not up here among Ballard's Rubes.
It's no way to go about winning friends and influencing people. Though it is in keeping with Councillor Ballard's various expressions of disrespect to the town he represents.
I think at heart, he will always think of himself as part of the Monarchy of King City.
Hewers of wood and carriers of water, similar to Church Street School , as landlords the town provides maintenance to the property.
Councillor Gallo's calculated calculation of rent multiplied by term of lease to show financial benefit
to the town, pales substantially against the cost of forfeiting the property for town use.
Despite arguments to the contrary, there are still few signs of activity at the property. None at all during weekdays and little in the evening. I suspect ,by the lack of local comment, Councillor Ballard may be the only Aurora connection to Queen's York Rangers Association.
Judging by his foot -in -mouth trait, I seriously doubt he has ever had any military experience.
I have to go now, I need to call The Auroran and to discover cost to advertise Petch House as a Wedding Chapel and promote the Senior's Centre as a beautiful facility for wedding receptions.
Wedding planners ,wedding photographers take note
It could be a private sector gold mine as well as a charming accessory to Aurora's Life Style.
The Senior's program could all be paid for and money in the bank to boot,

Your Guest Poster is mistaken about those who read your Blog & our ignorance. Two of the kids in our family got all their service points by working at a camp on a military base. It took a good chunk out of their summers & reduced time for both work & recreation. They loved it except for the bus trips to the zoo.

Cllr Buck, you shouldn't make assumptions based on a lack of comments. Per capita, how many actually read your blog?
Ron Wallace used to do a lot of free advertising for the town before the former declared his paper to be a rag & banned it from the town hall. He did it as a " public service " & was repaid when Cllr Gaertner after years of accepting free ads, threatened to sue him because of a letter he printed from a senior citizen who claimed to have seen a couple of councillors meeting prior to a council meeting.
I think Mr Weir might help with initial ads to get Petch up & running.
There is a ranger-linked thing in Aurora that the Mayor has listed on his events list . I do not believe HRH will be in attendance.
Mayor's events list is on New town web-site. I found it while looking for something else which was not available.

Not sure about the Councillor, but his son is/was a member of QYRang.

I suspect a whole lot more than read whatever it is that you write.
If people that read the blog posts also read the comments, then it would be the same number, 15:10.
But I'm content just knowing that YOU read 'em.
The current candidate for provincial office prefers to talk sabres at dawn to the real thing. I associate several councillors with sporting activities. Not him.
Went to vote this afternoon & checked out the Petch site. It is perfect for your idea, Evelyn. In fact, due to its location, I cannot think of anything else that could be done with it. But it will be hard slogging. Council seems determined not to leave anything jointly created in their wake.
@15:58
And Mr Ballard received less than 6% of the votes cast. What is your point ?
19:03, a better question is what's yours? (Ballard?!)
