AYSC is NOT a
multimillion dollar enterprise. It works with a tireless, in house skeleton
staff, a small select professional coaching staff, and the rest all volunteer.
AYSC does NOT produce a glossy rag, that went the way of Sport Aurora and it's
founders. You may want to ask why that gentleman is no longer involved with
soccer in this town. Better get the real story. AYSC runs programs for special
needs kids all through the year, with no cost to their families, they collect
equipment and clothing for children overseas year after year, they provide
organized sport for all ages child to adult, both genders, of all levels. The
Rep program participates in international competition at their teams own
expense. The former executive initiated an open door policy for residents from
other towns to support their expensive Academy program, that has now been
suspended. Again, you may want to ask why. The existing executive is there for
only one reason: the kids, they love the kids and want to give them the best
soccer experience they can.

I publish the comment above because it corrects elements of the impression I presented earlier.
It seems though things needed to change and they did.
I don't want to ask why the "expensive Academy program" was suspended. I don'tknow what it is.
I said I didn't do research I only know what I have heard and with the above comment my information is more up to date,

That sounds like another fine Aurora amenity that I know of.
You still haven't corrected the impression you shared of the Seniors' Centre financials.
That story about the Soccer Groups sounds fascinating. It is too bad that Alison doesn't still have her program. On the positive side, I can think of at least one Councillor who is likely very much involved. It is easy to lose touch once your kids are off the school buses and off the soccer fields.
Great that they were able to clean house. We were offering everything to kids from the entire Region. Please thank your source.

You must be referring to the Food Bank. Don't they do a super job & with no financial outlay from the Town? A good time of year to think about them although the need now is all year. A neat thing I heard was that people were donating Rotary hams which can be stored until really needed.
